Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

I haven't booked yet for October...still waiting for this to come out. Anyone have any suggestions whether I should go ahead and book and then add FD or if I should wait...thinking Moderate...:cheer2:

Not directed towards OP, but this is why FD is not available for August and the 1st week of December. You guys keep shooting yourselves in the foot by doing this.

We've got a FD pin, so it really doesn't effect us. But good luck when (or if) general public FD comes out for your dates.

Cheers! :thumbsup2

I hope I wrote my other post correctly, but I believe I wrote that DV holders should get it on Monday July 29 and the general public US and other countries will all get it on Thursday Aug. 1. I guess I'd better track down my other post to make sure that is what it says. :rotfl:

Upgrade costs are approx. $19 per night for adults and approx. $4 per night for kids 9 and under.

ETA: I think I found the post you were referring to. I said the DV holders get it first and the the general public from the US and other countries get it 3 days later. I think you may have just read it wrong. :goodvibes

Thanks for clearing that up. I got scared for a minute. Lol :)

The leak of the dates yesterday led me on quite the emotional journey. It kind of looked like this :
:confused3 :furious: :scared1: :headache:  and finally,

I booked our airfare on Southwest. No change fees - I wonder what the fare difference would be? I was THRILLED to find that if we changed our dates to 11/16 - 11/24, only two weeks earlier than planned, we would actually save $70 on our airfare. I called to see what the price of an identical package would be for that time frame, and it was available (POFQ) and the same price. AMAZING. I then called to see what kind of ADR's I could possibly get, and lo and behold, I found almost everything I wanted, with the exception of Be our Guest and Ohana dinner. BOG I can at least ensure a lunch at, and I got in for breakfast at Ohana, and will keep trying. I still got pre-park ressies at CRT and Tusker House, dinner at Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, Chefs de France (at the Remy time) a fantasmic dinner package at MM, and Pirate's League reservations for my kiddos. All in all, it worked out to be a no brainer to make the change, so we did! :cool1:

As disappointed as I was yesterday, I am SO grateful that I had the chance to get a head start on making the change, because we really couldn't stay onsite without some kind of signficant discount. Thanks so much for keeping us informed. It is much appreciated!

Now I only have 13 days of anxious waiting to book the DV FD promo and no FOR SURE that our dates are included. I kept all our other ressies in place, just in case we want to switch back, but I'm feeling pretty solid in these new plans. Honestly, I just can't wait to have it all set in stone so I can stop thinking about it for a while and just look forward to our vacation. :)

Congrats to everyone who got good news yesterday, and good luck to those, who like me, was disappointed. I hope all of you have truly magical trips!

Okay so I went ahead and booked POR this morning for 10/20-10/23, so excited DH let me put the deposit down! I am currently unemployed but have an interview next Tuesday and am really confident.

So when FD is announced (DH has a Disney Visa) I just have to hop on the phone ASAP and ask if we can get the FD? And cross all my crossables that they say yes? Just want to make sure I am ready when this happens lol.

Thanks for any reply!!

Yep, just give them a call when it goes live. Good luck at your interview. :goodvibes

The offer will be available to Disney visa holders a couple days ahead of time than the public. You just need to have the card available when you call. Yes, just call ask once it announced.

Good luck on your interview :)

I see a lot of posts talking about canceling/changing your reservation in order to apply FD to it when it's available. If I already have booked enough days with tickets in a qualifying resort (PORFQ) with dining, do I have to do anything other than apply the FD offer? I believe I'm already in a garden view room, or whatever is one step up from standard, so I would think I can just apply the offer to my existing reservation. The reason this concerns me is my reservation is for two rooms requested to be adjoining and I'd hate to lose that by applying the offer.

Room assignments aren't made until a few days before you arrive (if you did online check in) or when u arrive. So your not going to lose anything. Right now, Connecting rooms is just a request on your reservations ( sitting on a computer server ;) ). Just confirm its still listed on your reservation after you've changed to FD. You can do both in one phone call.

Hi Folks!

Yay on this FD news. Quick question: I see lots of folks posting about calling on the day FD goes public. Are we able to book via the Disney website or is calling the only way?

Thanks so much! Sorry if this has been answered. I read most of the thread but not all.

Unfortunately we didn't have a choice about waiting for the announcement since we are using points to fly and needed to book our flights early so we could get the dates/flights we wanted. Since our DS graduates Nov 29th we can't change our dates.

I believe I believe a CM will sprinkle pixie dust our way :smickey:

I can't stress this enough. The more people book packages early, in anticipation of a discount, the fewer discounts will be offered. If Disney goes by bookings when deciding on discounts, booking up all the rooms isn't going to benefit anyone in terms of getting discounts.

It doesn't serve much purpose to book early, as that doesn't guarantee you a discount anymore than someone calling in for a new reservation.

I always look forward to and appreicate the October free dining threads! :thumbsup2 Now, I should know the answer to this but I guess I've forgotten. If you have a Disney Visa can you book online when the offer is available to cardholders or do you have to call? TIA!

Thats why I havent booked anything yet for 2014 :)

Here is my question - if I change my dates from oct 14-19 to oct 21-26 and get a room there and all that, will I most likely get the FD or is there a chance it will "run out"?
