I could just cry ~ I mean really (a good cry). I had my heart set on fd at POFQ. I mean I have researched this resort for over a year and felt like it would be perfect for our first onsite stay. When word came that it was excluded from fd I was disappointed but decided we would probably like POR, I knew my princess loving dd would love a RGR. Well, after the disaster that was yesterday, we ended up at CSR and I was so bummed. I mean I know it's still Disney but honestly, I was crushed. I researched it all yesterday and dh and I looked at youtube videos last night and while I know it is some people's favorite, I was not happy about being there. Well, I have been stalking the reservations site since yesterday morning with no luck. Then out of the blue I refresh the screen and poof, there it is ~ a Garden View Royal Guest Room. I just about fell out of my chair. I blinked my eyes several times and checked the dates again and sure enough, it was for our dates. So, needless to say, I snatched it up and we are at POR in a RGR and I am all smiles. Keep checking if you are not where you want to be ~ something may pop up for you too

SO GUYS SHE EMAILED ME AND TOLD ME SHE DID A "DUMMY" RESERVATION ON THE TA SITE FOR NOVEMBER 11-15 WITH FREE DINING UPGRADED TO DISNEY DINING PLAN. SHE SAID SHE WILL HAVE TO DO THE RO ON THE 10TH FOR ME. IM NOT SURE IF SHE CAN SWITCH OVER TE MONEY I HAD ON MY OTHER RESERVATION TO THIS ONE. HOPEFULLY SHE CAN. I AM STAYING AT ALL STAR MUSIC. I HAVE ONLY STAYED AT POR RIVERSIDE AND THAT WAS ONLY ONCE. SO I HAVE NO IDEA IF WE WILL LIKE THIS RESORT OR NOT. DO YOU GUYS HAVE SOME FEEDBACK ABOUT THIS RESORT... TIA

I try to stay out of heated topics, but I am going to add some information to the discussion of holding multiple DISCOUNTED reservations...

When I worked in reservations at a large hotel chain, our discounted rooms did not go back into the pool with the discounts, but rather to rack rate. If Disney does the same, if you book more than one discounted room while you decide where you want to stay, the room you cancel will no longer be available with a discount. I have a friend holding AKL and All Star reservations for the same dates, I didn't bother going into it with her.

I'm not sure why it would matter if you have a non-discounted reservation and then book with FD before you cancel the first? I waited to book my room until FD was announced (more rooms booked = less rooms put into the discount pool), but we just decided to go a few weeks ago so I knew to wait to make my reservation.

My thought process is much like yours, I do not think it would be right to book multiple discounted reservations knowing you can only use one and will cancel the others.

I have heard in the past that the discounted room do end up back into the regular rack rate inventory until Disney checks the booked % then is the booking is low they may adjust the inventory of available rooms for promotions.

I was up at 2:00am checked and saw the promos were live online. I checked the resorts I was interested in ended up changeing resorts but did book what I wanted online and was done by 4am.

I did have a room booked thru a TA but I just felt I needed to book then cancel I sent an email off to my TA and just today received confirmation that she had cancelled my other room.

I have seen many state they missed out waiting for the TA's to get thru and modify their reservations and that is exactly why I booked myself online and see nothing wrong with doing it that way.

I'm sure once Disney re-evaluates the rooms booked % we should see some earlier Sold out resorts/catagories become available. Just keep checking

Anyone have an update on wait times? I called this morning, was on hold for 45 minutes and then disconnected I really can't call back to modify my ressie until wait times are a little shorter. I have a 9 month old crawler that's in to everything!!

I just wanted to pop back in and say no luck getting through yesterday but our travel agent was able to get through today and got us free dining at POR! We did have to switch from a Riverview room to standard but I'm okay with that

Another opinion of All Star Music -

We've stayed at BC twice, WL, POFQ, CSR, ASMo, and are booked for the 3rd time at ASMu for October. While I absolutely love the fancier resorts, I just can no longer justify the price considering how much time we spend in the parks and DD and how little time we are in the room. We hardly ever use the pools and it's basically sleep, shower, dress, and back out. The biggest problem I have with the Value resorts has been the bus service, but the last few times we just decided to drive to the main parking lots most of the time and it has worked out very well for us.

I was able to snag a room at CBR for free dining this morning! I was wanting to stay at POR but CBR was my second choice. Right now I looked and there are no rooms open for my dates at all! It doesn't look like they had very many rooms set aside for free dining at all.

and thats the name of the game double up book on line whatever if those having a lot to say wouldnt be saying anything if they had got what they wanted etc.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I was thrilled to get my reservation modified.
I personally just was frustrated with the whole phone deal.. I don't care if ppl make mult. reservations, it's just that I think that it added to the chaos when ppl were calling on the day that the promotion came out, it was the worst I've ever seen it & I think it would've been helpful for those with mult. reservations to call maybe the next day. Also, ppl were calling back that didn't get their e-mail confirmations.
I've only heard one person on this board who was pretty p.o.'d.

I was on hold for 1 hour and 15 minutes (from 11 AM to 12:15 PM) earlier. I was at work, and just kept the phone by my paperwork until someone picked up.

I guess we can't check special offers online? I click on the special offer but it just takes me to a page about the offer and the number to call. Last night I could check the RO offer rooms online but not today.
