I haven't seen the movie so I don't know if they give the name of the town but if you read the book it starts with the perron family living in Cumberland RI then moving to that house in burrillville ri.

I didn't even realize there was a book. I will have to look into this.

Hmmm. I'll have to check out that option as well...I'm not sure exactly how far New Castle is from me.

I had to drive to dover for a family reunion so I timed it while I was heading in that direction. I just timed it to the exit off 95. I looked at the map and it doesn't look like its far from the exit.

If we drive it is around 15 1/2 hrs. But we are looking to fly this year because my 11, and 9 year old said they won't be able to stand the 1 year old for that long!

I can't wait to see it...my kids keep telling me they want to see it. They're too young I'm sure lol

How old are your kids? I took my 15 yr old and her friend and they were scared poopless. It was kind of funny though cause I made my DD jump and scream at a non scary part. :rotfl2: I'm a horrible mom. :rotfl2:

We drive 19 hours each way. We split it up, 13 hours one day and 6 the next. It's the journey, right??:crazy2:

About 19 hours here too but we drive straight through.

I am originally from Indiana, but have lived in Ohio for almost 13 years. Though, I do live in Indiana about 40+ days a year. :rotfl: going back for 4 or 5 days not this week, but the next. One last trip home before the kids start school. :goodvibes

I'm a displaced Hoosier too! I went the other direction, though and now live in Illinois.

Testing....testing....closed yet?

I'm impressed by all of the drivers. I hate being cooped up in the car for more than 4-5 hours at a time.....cant do it. Any drive of 10+ makes me start to wonder if the destination is worth it!

Do your kids sleep in the car??:thumbsup2

We can never do that, for some reason my kids NEVER sleep in the car, crazy right?? So we have to stop and spend the night so everyone is well rested, otherwise...:furious::sad1::scared::crazy2::(

You guys are all crazy to drive. But then again I could be thinking that as it would take approx. 19hrs and 53 mins straight through, according to google maps. But with my DH driving and traffic realistically it would probably take about 24 hours. :lmao:
