FREE DINING - Next August 2014???

There was NO general public FREE DINING offer for late August this year, 2013. It actually began Sept. 2.

Based on the historical discounts and other promotions, Free Dining was offered back in 2011 & 2010 for this time period. Does anyone have any insight if this might be offered in 2014??? The Free Dining promotion is always a great savings and allows me to afford my trip as I'm planning to go again last week, Aug. 23-30, 2014

I'd say chances are probably no. It's always possible, but considering the slim amount of discounts they released during this entire year and the small inventory included at that, I'd say they're working on keeping discounts minimal.

It would probably depend on how they did booking wise this year (which still seemed to be fine) and how they're looking next year because of not offering it this year.

Us Brits have been offered free dining for August 14, but then again we have been offered it every year from at least 2009. Saying that last year was the first year when I noticed it wasn't offered to the US. I would guess no free dining for August for the US. They did however offer you guys a 30% rack rate discount for August.

Our free dining offer is only open until 22/10/14.

We were there at the end of Aug this year. The bounceback was for FD begining Aug 20, 2014. I would think that depending on how many bouncebacks they get booked would determine if it goes out to the public.

Dave and I are actually finishing up a magazine article on this very topic.

I've made it well known that September free dining will likely continue next year, for varying reasons. The bouncebacks always have a wider date range just as they had in 2013. After the bouncebacks, we will see PIN offers, followed by a public release as we did this year. The date range will likely remain only in September as it did this year as well.

My advice continues to be the same...book the bounceback and you can always change the dates later. This guarantees your promotion for a wider range of dates. Many things are happening next year that will dramatically affect the discounts and promotions offered. Remember, you can call #8844 from your resort phone and book the free dining bounceback even if you were not given an offer in your room, just call and ask.

I can happily say that I'm booked for free dining the last two weeks of August, 2014!!!

What changes are coming that will affect discounts? I've heard this said a few times now. Are you forseeing any FD for October if you believe it will be offered for Sept? We are arriving Oct. 1st and hoping FD is still offered.

Lots of little things both internally as well as with Disney's competition.

We just finished the article about this very thing, but I'll share more and more later on.

If you aren't following my free dining thread (part 3), that's where I usually talk about these sorts of things.
