Free dining is here for the Fall

I want to make sure I get everything I want tonight before I go to bed. Can I book my trip with free dining online now and call and cancel my other reservation in the morning? Will I lose my $200 deposit?

I don't think so, I'm west coast and didn't want to wake up at 4am for this. I looked at terms of my last reservation and it said full deposit guaranteed refund if cancelled more than 5 days prior to travel.... I went with that and booked!!!! G'luck to you!

We were originally planning on going next year but now DH is talking about going this year. I just looked up the Moderates during the time we are going. It says there is no rooms avalible during that time. If I look again through the main page (not special offers) I can book a room without free dining. Is there a limited # per resort avalible?
Also is it common for the first day of the promo for many of the resorts to be "sold out?"
Should I keep checking back? Call in the morning? Or just move on.

Who else is hanging out on hold with me? :dance3: I have what I want online. Should I just go ahead and pay another $200 deposit to make sure I get it? Then when they finally answer get them to fix the mess I created?

I think I would call back just to make sure! Each resort that is included in the free dining has a specific number of rooms included in the free dining, but I find it hard to believe that all moderates are sold out. Good luck!!

Yah, I got a little worried and just did it. :) I'm going to hang out on hold to get everything fixed though. Yay, for getting free dining and the room I wanted.

If I book again online and cancel my old reservation do I lose all of the dining reservations that I already made?

Of course since January we have been booked at POFQ and now free dining is out to tempt us to move. Hubby and I aren't sure we care about a couple hundred $$ since we have what we want (figuring that a switch would mean high price rooms) but then I just thought of something. I got travel insurance, will I have to repay that? Or will the travel insurance cover the switch too?

Decisions decisions! And I really can't make a final one until after lunch today.
Lots to Ponder.

Prior to the official announcement we were ok staying put. grrrrr:confused3

We also picked POFQ for our honeymoon and since we hadn't planned to stay 6 nights, we took the reduced room rate instead. Figure the amount we'll save there will pay for a few meals! :)

I missed the part about reduced room rate. I thought I read FQ was excluded from that too. I guess I have more research to do. Or did you just mean that it's cheaper to stay at FQ?

If people do this will it possibly limit the availability for others? Just a thought.

I was on hold for almost 2 hours & was not able to get my first choice POR, but I was still able to upgrade to CSR and ended up saving $50 overall! I could have saved more staying at the value, but I used that to upgrade to a mod & am still very happy!!! Now I have $50 more for drinks! Woo Hoo! :)

Has anyone had luck adding or booking free dining in November at any of the moderates?
I've played around with dates and got nothing online. Now I've been on hold over an hour and a half :(

I was able to get through to Disney, however, they said there was a "glitch" in the system and they can not make any Free Dining or 20% off room reservations at Port Orleans, that I should try back in a few hours. My question is: we have reservations from November 10 - 18, has anyone had two reservations back to back at the same hotel? If we make a 1 night reservation at the regular rate for Nov 10 and a 7 night reservation starting on Nov 11th what is the possibility of not having to change rooms? I think the hassle may be worth the free dining but I'm not sure of the logistics of it.

We are doing the same thing! Going November 10-16. We have a one night reservation for the 10th and another for the 11-16!!!

Yea, on their site POFQ was 20% off and they had Garden/River rooms available at the lower prices.

We made our reservations at the new rate then when we called Disney to cancel our old reservation they offered to give us FD if we moved our reservation to Caribbean Beach Resort, even though we are only staying 4 nights, so we took them up on that offer.

*edit, apparently you don't need 6 nights, only 3 nights. Man Disney was tricky with their wording on the site! lol

Is anyone else having trouble trying to call Disney, I keep getting a busy signal or an all circuits buys??? The website is really slow too???
