Just saw a commerical regarding free dining and my husband pointed out that the small print at the bottom of the screen included some dates in December. I didn't believe him so I "rewinded" the commercial via the DVR and also read December dates! But, when I go to the Disney website it does list anything past September....am I missing something?

I hope that NO FD is offered first 2 weeks of December......:headache:

Ohh that is when I am hoping it is offered. We always go the first 2 weeks of Dec. Why don't you want the first 2 weeks? Just being nosey

This is when I go too. FD events usually get more people at the resorts during Value season and/or the slow times of the year. More people equals more crowds and less opportunity to get a good reservation as they are horded up by everyone trying to use their FD credits.

First 2 weeks have traditionally been the calm before the Christmas crowds, however last 3 years it's been anything but that. If you throw FD into the mix, I can just imagine how bad crowd levels will become. We visit first 2 weeks to avoid the larger crowds and last weeks of Value season.

FD = rack rate. I haven't paid rack rate ever. For our family, FD does not work. We can eat more and spend less without FD so I prefer 20% to 42% discount on my resort instead.

That makes sense. After I posted the question I kinda figured that is why. We did the numbers quickly and FD is what we like having. Now, saying this is does bring the crowds. There is always pros & cons to everything.

Let's hope that it works out for everyone :)

Thats interesting, I'll have to pay closer attention to those commericals. Let us know if you find out which weeks were offered. We're waiting for a discount code or FD for the second week. For the last few years we've been sent PINs for 35% off deluxe for this time, but watch now that we actually plan to go we'll get nothing:lmao

Was it a free dining commercial, or was it one of those commercials that states for $93 per person per night you can stay at a disney resort? It includes room, tickets and quick service dining. These commercials give the price of everything if you were to purchase it all, nothing is free. It looks like a promotion but it is their regular prices.

Hmmm, this excites me! I have been stalking a December FD pin offer to no avail. Interested to see where this goes.

FD does make the parks much busier and more difficult to get ADRs but at the same token, it also allows people the opportunity to visit who otherwise could not afford it. The money saved could be the very breaking point for some families otherwise.

Everybody deserves to see the mouse! :goodvibes

Right after I read this post, I happened to see a Disney commercial which did have tiny December details/dates on the bottom on the bottom of the screen, but it was not a commercial for free dining. It was one of those $93 per person per night that includes dining etc, which the above poster described. I don't believe that December free dining is usually offered this early in the year though, is it?

Thanks for pointing this out, you both are probably right.

I did, too...and it was one of those commericials as well. I think last year it was announced in August or something?

My relatives have gotten FD in early December for the past three years. I have no doubt they'll get it again this year as Disney knows just what carrot to dangle. Meanwhile dining prices are going up, up, up and the quality is going down. People sometimes need to pull their heads out of the sand to see the big picture and the actual value of what they are purchasing.

By any chance do you remember the December dates that you saw?

I received a FD pin code yesterday for December. I don't remember the exact dates but I think it was 12/1-12/20. I didn't pay that much attention to the dates once I saw as our trip (12/8-12/17) was in the date range.

Wow, I hope we get that code. Did you receive the PIN via email or snail mail?
