Free Dining For October?

Not trying to set off a firestorm here, but a friend of ours just booked a trip for late October and told by the travel agent that the free dining plan HAS been extended through the end of the year as of a couple of days ago. As of now it has not been released online or generally announced to the public (only released to travel agents as of right now) but will be in a week or so. Again, this is according to the travel agent, and I did confirm that our friend did receive the free dining plan (with no discount pin code). I plan on calling AAA tomorrow to see what they say

Anyone else heard anything similar?

Have not seen or heard that anywhere. I'd be very surprised if that was true and this one TA knows about it, but no one else does - including Mary Waring @ Mousesavers.

They usually open this to Disney VISA cardholders before they open it to the general public, and I haven't gotten any e-mails from my Disney VISA with an offer like this. I am going in 2012, so I hope this happens next year!!

There is a PIN for free QSDP circulating for later fall dates. Is it possible that your friend had a PIN in her name but didn't receive the postcard/email? That seems to happen pretty frequently.

Had to have been a PIN because there is no current general public offer that includes October.

Plus, we have so many travel agents that visit these boards that I would think we would have heard about a discount already.

Disney always has news about general public offers in advance, they don't sneak them in like this. PIN codes, however, can sometimes be accessed where the recipient has not received any notification, and apparently they have a knowledgeable travel agent who knew to check. If it's just to travel agents, hers can't be the only travel agent who knows about it and there has not been anything else on the boards. I don't remember travel agents ever getting the jump on actual booking, either. Usually travel agents can book free dining at the same time anyone else can.
