Do DVC members get free dining?

The reason I ask is because I am thinking about buying points from a DVC member to get a BCV in May 2010. They would be booking the reservation for me and then I would be paying them. However, lets say that Disney is doing the free dining deal in May 2010 (which I doubt, but hypothetically), can I still get it even though I am not the one who booked the room? :confused3

Free dining is not available on DVC point stays. You would have to book a package direct from Disney at non-discounted rack rates and purchase park tickets to get free dining.

There is NO free dining when using points(your own or anyone else's), you must book a package through CRO.

Do you have to book tix as well? I thought you could book the dining plan without doing a package.

DVC members (or guests or renters) can purchase any of the three dining plans. There is no requirement for a ticket purchase to add a dining plan to a DVC reservation.

DVC members cannot get free dining, though. In order to get the dining free, you must agree to pay full rack rate for a room AND buy tickets as part of a package reservation.

Renters can get free dining from anyone offering that as a rental incentive. DVC members, as a group, do not get free dining since they are not paying rack rate from Disney and purchasing a package, but an individual member could certainly offer free dining if they feel the need to do that to rent their points.

The dining plan may be added to DVC stays without the need to purchase admission tickets and no minimum stay is needed either.

It can't hurt to ask a member if they offer free dining, but if that is important to you it might be wise to just call DRC or reserve online at disney.com since they are definitely offering the free dining as an incentive to rent from them.

Good luck! :)
