Free Dining for August 2011

Hello ,

I am a new comer to the dis boards and would greatly appreciate any help I could recieve. My DW and 3 kids will be going to Disney World in August 15-24 at POR and I am desperately trying to find out how to access the free dining I have been reading about people receiving. I have tried the P2M code,E2F , and the BN6 (this one apparantely doesnt activate until the end of the month) and none of them work for my dates given.Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thank You.

I have read the FD pin ends on Aug. 13th so that may be your probelm. I booked FD back in December that start date was the 19th of August. You may have to adjust your dates for FD.

Correct these codes only work until August 13 but I have read elsewhere on the disboards that some families have booked just recently and within my same dates and received the free dining

Funny how I came on the boards today to check if free dining was being offered at all. I usually get the pin codes but I haven't seen anything and I wanted to book for August. Can anyone help with pin codes or are they specifically for the person/family they send them to?

Will a Disney rep give that to me?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It all depends on when in August you are going if you book be Feb 28th then it is free dining with the above codes until August 13th. You can book for August 13th and get the dining but you must be checked in on August 13th.

The challenge with free dining right now is all the booking reports seem to come back to PIN codes that are assigned to specific people.

There was a general free dining promotion for dates in 2011 that was open to all, but expired on December 20, 2010. It's very interesting that a set of free dining PIN codes are being distributed or discovered right now, but this is a difficult way to obtain free dining because it's not a general promotion.

Unfortunately there's no way to know if a general free dining promotion for 2011 will resurface. If one does, it's more likely it will be for dates in October, November, and December, since the previous promotion had dates up until the end of September.

Just a warning that there is a Diser claiming to be a Disney Reservations Specialist and that is combing the boards and protesting to the Mods about these codes. She says they are not for public viewing and that the sharing of these codes on this board is fraudulent, devious and dishonest. She has had the Mods delete the three threads on the Codes and Rates board that contained these codes.

Going in Aug (6-13) too and would really like FD. Last time room discount applied but this time we have to go a week earlier... Hopefully a FD is released.

returning to disney ..last year me and my boyfriend went in the middle of august and most of the trip it rained so trying to go in early august 2-10 or august 30-sept 7 to see if it will make a difference.any advice on a good time to go?

Sorry, but daily rain showers and thunderstorms are just part of touring WDW from June through September

Sorry, you'll have to go sometime besides July, August and September if you want to avoid the "Wet".

To OP - there is a good chance FD will be extended late-August through end-September/early-October. this usually happens in early-April, but in past years has occurred in late-March or even early-May. Disney does a pretty big AD push for this, so you pretty much can't miss it when it happens. Note, that it might not happen this year, but since (A) there's more FD than ever nowadays and (B) it is still the "slow" time of year, I suspect you will see it come out again.

We went around the same time in 2009 and it was the first time that we used the free dining and it is great. Had some great dinners at cinderella's castle and the luau at the polyanesian resort along with other things. Weather is stinkin hot and pretty darn muggy as well but the lineups times were fairly short. Hope you have fun.

No, there are not any current general public free dining offers for May. The next general public free dining offer, which will probably come out in the next month or so, will most likely cover dates for around August 13 - end of September/early October.

Just an FYI about 2 weeks ago I "signed up" for a free planning DVD (did it on swagsbuck site) and yesterday in the mail I received free dining pin. Funny still havent received the DVD lol...only good thru Aug 13 and we want to go first week of Sept so we will keep waiting...

We have booked our trip for Sept 11 to 15. We are using the kids stay and play free special. I have included park hopper and the basic dining plan.

Since I have already booked, can I still get the dining plan free when it comes out or am I out of luck?

Yes you can, but there are some buts!

You will be able to change your discount to Free Dining from the stay and play only if there are rooms available in the resort your stating with the Free Dining Discount. I suggest calling as soon as the discount comes out and try to get it changed. Also make sure it is worth it for you. If you switch to free dining, you will pay rack rate for the room and also have to pay for all of your park tickets, including the kids.

If there is no availability in your resort you can switch.
