Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

I just did a quick glance through Black's posts from last year, and by early April he had confirmed that Free Dining was indeed happening. Around this time last year he indicated April 21 or May 1 possible release dates, but I believe it ended up actually being released a week after the May 1 date. Rumors are definitely quiet this year compared to last year.

I tweeted at Black about a week ago regarding his thoughts on FD this year and he responded to me via DM with

"Disney is keeping things tight lipped now. A few pages have posted speculation on free dining and were asked to take them down."

That's one thing I don't get about Disney. You'd think they'd want the speculation and publicity :confused3. Until recently I always assumed they leaked info on purpose to build up the buzz.

I hate to say it, but they may be asking them to remove these articles because they may switch to a different type of offer. Personally, I think it will be offered, but anything can happen. With park attendance on the rise, they simply may not need to offer as much to get people there.

Oooh, yeah, that's a good point. They probably got flack for all the blackout dates last year, and if it's further reduced or completely changed this year they don't want all the buzz to turn negative. I'm anxious to see what happens.

Either way I cannot wait! I would LOVE free dining, but I have structured my planning that if its not offered, we would appreciate ANY type of discount. Granted if Free dining isn't offered, we wont opt for the dining plan and will adjust our eating habits a bit to contain a few less table service and eat only eat at a few places that are necessities!

I miss all the rumors about free dining. Part of the fun is wondering when it will happen! It makes me sad that Disney is stopping rumors about free dining. I understand they don't want the speculation to turn negative but i think it only adds to the excitement!

I agree with vicarrieous. ANY type of discount would be much appreciated. We weren't able to get the Summer offer because by the time I got through, they had already given out all the offers for that resort. I was so upset. At least if I get FD I'll feel a little better about the whole thing....an if I get a pin code for a discount on our package, I would feel a LOT better ;-)

There were 5 of us that stayed on property back in October 2000. We didn't know about the dining plan until we were booking it at the travel agents and found out that the dining plan was FREE while we were going to be there. Talk about bonus! Last October my daughter and I stayed off property....we decided there and then that in the future its stay on property and dining!

My daughter and I are going this October and have booked All Star Movies with DDP. I was really hoping to get the plan free this time as well, but I decided to book now anyway in case price goes up AND no free plan in offered. My question is, if it turns out the free dining is offered during our dates can I rebook with the free dining offer? Once you booked are you stuck with what you already have? We did add 2 days after the initial reservation, so that should be bonus points for us right? LOL From what I've read so far (soooooo much to read!lol) I do understand that the values only offer the quick serve and you can pay to upgrade, and that it may even be beneficial to upgrade to a moderate resort for total free dining. Either way we are still going (Happy Birthday to me!!), but if we could save some moolah and possible go to a moderate, that be awsome!

Took a trip to Disney in 2010 and stayed at AKL in the Kidani Villas and purchased Disney Deluxe Dining Plan on that trip. It was great to try so many different restaurants but it was way too much food. (or that's what my scale told me at least!) In 2013 I received my one and only PIN code. It was for free dining and we stayed at POR. I was lucky enough to be able to get free dining last year when it was released to the general public and stayed at CBR.

I never knew how lucky I was to have received that PIN code back in 2013 until now...........Patiently or impatiently (LOL) waiting with all of you and hoping we are lucky enough to have free dining again. :rolleyes1

What is this magical PIN code and how do I get/qualify for one?! (I do apologize if this question has been asked and answered a billion times. My eyes can't handle reading through 88 pages lol)

PIN codes are sent randomly to people. Nobody seems to know why certain people receive them and they do seem to be few and far between. I received mine via e-mail from Disney. I assumed it was because a few years had passed since we had vacationed there and it was an incentive for us to return. These number codes are linked to the receiver specifically and are non-transferrable. I believe they have changed the name to Unique Offer Codes. The PIN codes sometimes include dates and resorts that would not normally be included in other public offers.

Falling under the category of "and a whole lot more"....... Has anyone ever used the live chat option to inquire about any PIN/UOC being connected to their account? TIA

Thanks for the info! I'm all set up for receiving emails, so I don't miss anything. Fingers crossed lol

Another pin question. Say you book a trip with FD or RO discounts and then get a pin for something additional, can you use it on top of those offers or is it one offer per package/booking?

You can book a new reservation or call and have it added to the current. Either way, it'll be checking against different availability. Rooms are limited with offers, so having something ahead of time or adding to it won't have any benefit over anyone else.

No stacking discounts. One discount per reservation.

I'm pretty sure it's only one offer per booking. If you have already booked something and you receive a PIN for another offer that's more appealing I'm pretty sure you can call and take advantage of the better one but cannot combine them.
If I'm incorrect, someone please correct me.
I hope this helps.

I've been following this thread for about a week now, but I must ask, is it really that hard to book free dining once it is available? We have reservations in December at Pop Century and it would be incredible if we were able to get FD. Can anyone explain what the process will be like once it is (or if it is) available?
