Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

It feels great!! So good to NOT be telling the kids "no" all the time, and having them split, etc. They know that is there one time of the year that they can splurge! Also good to feel like you have the whole trip (less tips) paid for before you go.

Just joined so I can more actively follow this thread. Alhough I have been stalking it for a while. As May gets closer it will be my support system to help with free dining anxiety

I have already booked, and am hoping for FD (will go either way, but may make some changes if no FD. No biggie.) So, here's my questions (looking for opinions), if FD does come out, would it be easier to cancel existing ressie and rebook with FD, or call to add (possibly being on the phone for hours. Lol)

I think depends on if you have Disney Visa or not. If you have the Disney visa, you will need to call to make the reservation. I would just keep what you have and change. If you don't have the visa, and could book online, I think I would try to make a New reservation online and then cancel my old one. Just my thoughts.

Just a question... If you go during free dining why not book a BB for the next year so you won't be anticipating FD- you will have it from BB?

Aww, and miss all the fun?

The BB has been offered for September, but I don't think for later in the year. Others can correct me if I am wrong.

perfect strategy if you think you will/might be going next year. You do have to put down deposit when you book the BB. A lot of families (mine included) can't afford to go every year so the BB is not an option.

So I know that you have to pay full rack rate for your room and tickets in order to get free dining. The resort which I was wanting to stay at has only a pool view room catagory that is eligible for a package with tickets. The room I WANTED is available but apparently not as a package which I find odd. Anyway, since the pool view will add an extra $1000 to my bill, I wondering can I pay full price for my room and then full price for park tickets and still be eligible for free dining? Or does the reservation have to be booked as a "package"?

That is odd. I would try to book the room then call and add the tickets and they should turn that into a package. Not sure though, never heard of that happening.

Was this tried online or by phone? It would have to be booked as a package, and I have no idea why it couldn't be.

Ok so I have a question
If I book a room at csr and its for 9 nights but only have 7 day ph (going to seaworld one day) would I have the other days from the room for meals also or is it off park tickets?!?!? Soo confused! I've never done something like that before and I've also never had the ts dp before so it's all new

DDP credits are based on the number of room nights.

Yes, it's based on number of NIGHTS. Remember that as it's not days. So if your there for 9 nights and 10 days, it's number of meals/snacks times 9.

To be clear, are we talking QS or regular 1 QS, 1 TS plan here?

Goes according to level of resort you stay at . The value resorts have been getting the quick service plan while the moderates and deluxes have been offered the regular dining plan. If you choose the value they will give you the option of upgrading to the regular plan for about 18 dollars a night I believe.
