Free Dining Exclusions?

Any thoughts on why free dining is excluded Nov 3 to 10th? Trying to plan for a trip next year, this is the week we were thinking, watching what is happening this year. I know one year varies from the next, but its still worth to pay attention...

Jersey week? Veterans Day weekend here in the US maybe

We live in NJ and every year, first week of Nov, there's teachers' conference in NJ so kids only go to school for 1 or 2 days depending on your school district. Even those days, there are so many kids missing (taking vacations), they watch movies and play. I know that many go down to visit WDW during this time b/c of weather and crowd level is much better than spring break or summer vacation.

If you can go the following week it would be better. As PP said, NJ has a teachers conference each Nov (In 2014 it will be 11/6 & 11/7), that week is also the last weekend of Food & Wine Festival, and the F&W half marathon. So it is a packed week and no need to offer free dining.

I know last year they did not have it during the week we went in October and they are not having it again this year the same week. They are offering a discount this year and did last year but not free dining.

DUH of course, Jersey week! I forgot all about that. Ok so we are best to stick to original plan of leaving Oct 23 returning the 31st....or after Rememberance/Veterans day. Thank you!

Thankfully Veteran's Day (11/11) is not excluded for FD since that's the day we arrive. We are from NJ and would have been fine going during "Jersey Week" but there were no awards miles flights available that week--we were lucky to get all 3 flights with miles--so that was how we chose our dates. And that was long before FD was even a glimmer on the horizon. I'm just grateful it worked out for us.

The dates are below:

September 29 - October 2
October 18 - November 2

Some Resorts are excluded. These include: Art of Animation, All Star Movies, Port Orleans French Quarter, Campsites at Ft. Wilderness, and 3-bedroom villas
