free dining doesn't seem free

I just tried to book free dining package but when they quoted me the price.
It came to $1600 though when they gave me the rate for the rooms and tickets the price was about 1400?
I was planning to book 4 nights at Port River side for myself wife and kids 9 and 5?
Am I doing something wrong, it seems like I am only saving $200's?

Yeah, that. I had looked up the resort I wanted before I called and had prices that had insurance and preferred rooms included and w/out. When she quoted me a price, I knew right away they included insurance and preferred room. That's their "default". I'd venture to day that's true in this case....they probably included options you didn't want/need.

I just priced four nights.. standard view.. with 5 day park hoppers Sept 16 to 20 at POR for your family as noted above.. and it comes to 1632.70$

If I do the exact same thing WITHOUT park hopper .. just normal tickets .. it's 1455.92$.

These prices are from WaltDisneyWorld.com .. and do not factor dining.. free or otherwise.

Do you know for sure you are comparing the same thing? How did you get the 1400$ figure? Was there a discount code involved? AAA?

Did you try to get a quote online without adding the dining? See if that comes to the same amount.

I was told you must stay at least 5 nights to get the free dining, I was gonna call in a few min. Does anyone know if that is true???

3 nights is the free dining minimum.

do you have/are you using a disney visa card? if not, then you are not eligible for the free dining until thursday...
maybe that's the problem?

It's 3 nite min. I already booked Monday with my Disney Visa. I had no problems at all. Just be ready on Thurs. I was on the phone at 7:00am when they opened which was miserable for me because where I am it was 4:00a.m. And it still took 43 minutes to finally speak to a cast member.

It would not only be 1600 if you paid for dining.

From the website, the room, tickets (I went with base), and dining would be:1855.78

Without dining just room and tickets is: 1455.92 as someone else said.

You were not apparently factoring in dining, but rather Park hoppers with a room is what I am guessing to get the 1600.

The question now is do you have free dining (YIPPEE) plus room and base tickets without park hoppers, and is that what you wanted? If so, you saved over 400 dollars and congrats to you!
