Free Dining - confirming

I just want to confirm that whenver I have see Disney offer the free Disney Plan.....we DVC owners if staying using our points cannot take advantage of it.

Is that true? am I missing a way around it in order to get it.

has anyone figured out a way to take advantage to where it works in your favor.

You are correct, in that DVC owners when staying on points cannot get free dining.

I believe it has been posted before that people have booked a room for their party to get free dining and not stayed in it - but, I figure, once you add on the cost of tickets (unless you need them anyway) and the price of the room, it probably doesn't work out much cheaper than paying for the dining plan - especially since (if I remember rightly) you have to at least book a moderate to get the basic dining plan now.

to get free dinning - your must buy a package from disney - this package must include rack rates at the resort plus at least one ticket. think you must stay at least 5 days.

since you are staying on points - you are not paying rack rates for the resorts.

so you don't get free dinning.

besides during free dinning you don't want to eat at WDw restuarants - way too crowded. If you have a car this is time to travel offsite to nicer and cheaper restuarants.

no car - then order groceries.
