For all the dates that are blacked out, will there not be any discount of any sort for those days now or will something else come out? AND why so many black out dates, what is going on?

My guess is nothing else will be coming for those dates, short of a PIN code. But, WDW plays with their discounts a lot, so there is always a chance. My analysis of the black out dates are:

Oct 8-21- Columbus day, many schools out for Fall Break
Oct 29-Nov 11- Not really sure here, Halloween through Veteran's Day- maybe more Fall Breaks but everyone I know has it in Oct.
Nov 19-26- Thanksgiving
Dec 3-9- Pop Warner

So, they all make sense to me except that early November one.

early november is combo of Halloween and Jersey Week and Veterans Day

Thanks so much for the response. I am so bummed!! We are going anyway but a discount would have been nice!! ;) Does Pop Warner mean the parks will be very crowded? We arrive on the 7th and leave on the 14th?

Pop Warner fills a lot of the resorts, but not so much the parks. They are busy competing during the day, so they're not in the parks. Evenings may be a little more crowded because the kids are free to enter the parks at that time.

By the way, I agree with the analysis above. Probably the late Oct/early Nov dates are blacked out because that is a peak time for Food & Wine Festival, or there may be a group or convention at that time.

Thanks Mary! Any chance for a discount being given for my dates later down the line?

I'd say there's a very good chance - if you check out Mousesavers historical deal lists, for example, they released a room discount right after free dining was released in July last year. It appears that they've pretty much had a "non-free dining" discount going for a long time - the question is when will it come out, and of course it probably won't cover breaks like thanksgiving and christmas.

So let's keep our hopes up!! :thumbsup2

The FD dates released today are the exact same dates of my PIN code offer of 40% room discount. I opted not to book a vacation with my PIN, hoping that Free Dining extension would cover our dates (October 19-25). I was surprised to see the same restrictions covered the FD extension as the 40% PIN.

No one on the DIS boards will be surprised to learn that I just changed my dates and booked for FD ;)

I know that there were PINS floating out there with those blackout dates. I just wanted to add that I got a PIN two months ago that included early December (I am going 4-11 on it.) Who knows how I got that lucky, but I am still doing my happy dance:cool1:

I hope there is an offer out there for your somewhere!

We are going Nov 7-13, which unfortunately is blacked out for Free dining. We got one of those 20/30/40 pins awhile ago and were able to use that-would have preferred FD, but a discount is better than no discount at all!!

I hope Free Dining is coming for the blackout dates in October. If not we may have to go see Harry Potter instead of the mouse. I would really like to visit the mouse since it is Food & Wine time. I like checking out the food since I don't drink.

we too are going down Nov2-6 and that week seems to get skipped over for "deal" I recieved a pin code "blacking" out that week....I hope something comes thru....even Swan/Dolphin rates are high that time frame even with a nurses discount??

November 2 - 6 coincides with "Jersey Week". That's why it is blacked out. I would not expect to see that change. It's a very busy week at WDW. The F&W Festival at Epcot is also going on then.

Those are close to our dates (Nov 4 - 9). I just called the reservation line and asked if I had the rumored Free Dining pin that starts on July 13. I was told that indeed I do and that it can be used for my planned dates. I just couldn't stand it anymore and figured the worse they could tell me was no; which wouldn't change where I am today...

I actually had a 30/40% room pin that would probably have done more for me than FD, but that was back in May when I wasn't even considering Disney this fall. Oh well. :( This is a surprise trip for DD and I am trying to keep it at $1500 or so including room, tickets, food, and airfare. Might actually be doable.

Anyway, if you haven't already called, do! At least you'll know. Good luck!

I think because its National Teachers Convention during those early Nov. dates...

So I'm out due to the black out date for PW week. I am staying thru Dec 12th, so I don't know if i'll get it all week or just the dates of the 10th -12th only.

Gloom, despair and agony on me..... I just called and I don't have the rumored July 13 pin code :scared:

Our dates are 11-9 to 11-16. I have my airfare and ADR's booked

When is Jersey week and just how busy is "very busy"?? Like summer busy or just busier then other Fall dates??

If we go it will probably be the 2nd week of November (8th-12th). Is that Jersey Week too?

We went in October of last year and loved it! We were hoping for early November to be kinda like the end of Oct as far as crowds. Nothing beats 5 to 10 minute waits. Every year before last, we went on July 4th. Now that's a crowd!!!

I called and don't have the rumored pin either. We are booked from Dec. 4 - 13, and like you have airfaire and ADR's booked...so we dont' have the flexibility of changing our dates....:confused3
