Free Dining Announcement by April 12

Several people have called Disney Visa (NOT Disneyworld's CM's) direct and been told that free dining will be released on Monday. "The code" has been released and posted on the Codes and Rates board (can't be used until Monday though--a few posters have already tried;) ).

So in other words, at this time free dining as been confirmed by Disney Visa but not yet from WDW website/WDW cast members.

There is no 5 night minimum. The whole thing is if you book at least a one day-one park pass with your res and the first day of your trip starts in the traveling dates.

The Disney Visa card members call their TA or WDW directly to book, and a deposit is required on the Disney Visa at that moment - and the CM know if its Disney or not.

That's what I was told. :thumbsup2

I know I've seen posts, but not 100 % certain on this one.

Does the 0% 6 mos disney visa offer begin on the day of making the deposit?

Or on the day it is paid off (as in 45 day mark if that is when it was paid off). It would have to be at the day it is paid off right? so if paid off in early august, you would have till early feb to have it paid at 0% interest?

(sorry my head is swimming with too many details!) :surfweb:

Could this possibly be just for Disney visa holders?? ..This does seem to be the yr that disney is targeting specific groups rather than the general public.

Could someone call Visa and ask them if it an offer ONLY for them??

For booking starting April 9...it is only for Disney Visa holders. They require you to put at least the downpayment on a Disney Visa.

BUT...the rumor is that it will be opened to the general public on April 12.

when the free dining promo comes out and you haven't already booked your trip go to the disney website, click on tickets & reservations (upper right hand corner), this will take you to another screen where on the left hand side you will see "special offers", click on this and the free dining promo will be listed, just click on that and you can make your reservation and it will include the free dining promo- good luck.

My word of advice to find out when the promo is actually offered and what date?:
Just keep checking disney's website or hear, when the promo does actually come out the buzz will be deafening on these boards, lol

Thanks fellow dissers!!

Is it the plan that's normally $39/day? I suppose once you've booked, you can't switch over without cancelling/rebooking...

That is correct. You have 6 months to pay after you charge the balance in July or August. Last year I just paid for the deposit on my visa when the bill came in. I didn't bother doing 6 months financing on that. It worked out great for us. We saved some each month and then paid it off before the due date.

If you make ressie Monday and use your visa for the deposit, you have 6 months to pay that $200 dollars deposit off. The balance $$ for your trip is due 45 days before arrival. If you choose to put the balance on your visa you have 6 months from that date to pay that off.

Ugh. That thread on the codes board says it is for a VALUE resort only!! We have ressies at the Poly- and now will have to DOWNGRADE??? That sucks :(

I don't think you will have to downgrade, from the posts I have read they were just using the word value as an example or something. Some people have asked the Visa people and they have told them it will be at mods/deluxe also as long as the particular resort has free dining availability

Someone on another thread said they spoke to a Disney CM and there will not be a 5 night min as some Visa CS people were saying. The "5 night at a Value resort" was just the ad copy from the promotion. The CM said it will be 3 night min (same as in the past) and at all resort levels (subject to available rooms at your resort of choice).
This made sense to me as usually Disney ads in my newwpaper quote a 5 night stay at Value resort.

Also, I called the dedicated Disney Visa 800 number on my card to make sure they had an email address for me.....they did NOT!! Not sure how thats possible since I check my account online all the time and it shows my email address there, but I guess they are two different things! I suppose thats why I never heard about Free Dining (or any other offers) in the past even though we are "charter" cardholders.

Here is a link to another post from someone who talked to Disney Visa today http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1411111

Thanks for the link. I noticed your list of eateries in you signature. A tip of the hat towards your goal.
If you are going to get the dining plan, you gotta go to the Hoop-dee-doo-Revue. Even though it is Two TS's, it is well worth it. Figure 1 1/2 TS's for the show and 1/2 TS for the food. We were able to share CS's comfortably to make up for the lost TS's we used for the show.

For the four of us, we shared two combo meals at Cosmic Rays and Toy Story Pizza Planet. Plenty of food for us and DD7 and DS10. The key is finding CS rests. that don't have a kids menu.

Thank you. This is exactly the info I was looking for. :) I tried applying for a Visa today but it said my card approval could take up to 10 days, so I'll have to wait until the offer goes out the the general public. What irks me is that I've toss out countless preapproved Disney Visa offers for both me and dh.

:upsidedow We will be getting the DP-although not free this year. But that's ok-we had it two years in a row-last year for NINE of us! MY DH and I surprised my kids, their spouses and our grandkids with an all-expense-paid trip to Disney. We went, too, of course! We had the Grand Gathering all booked including airfare when the Free DP was announced! :cool1:
