Free dining 2015?

Is it easy to book the free dining package with the U.S. site? We have only just decided to go to WDW this year so missed the UK offer?

Yes you can book online - can be a pain staying on US version of website, defaults back to UK. Some people use a US travel agent like dreams unlimited. We've booked twice online with the US deal last time in 2013 with no problems.

I've used a US TA specifically Dreams Unlimited when I book through the US as they compare all the offers to make sure you get the best deal - saves me having to do the leg work!

I like it as everything is done by email/online and you get one agent who works with you. :goodvibes

To clarify between US and UK site

there is the UK site at http://www.disneyholidays.co.uk/walt-disney-world/
that's the "real" UK site

then there is a UK version of the US site which reverts to the "real" UK site, and that can be a pain

When you're on the US site at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/
2 possibilities.
Desktop site : at the top of the page, towards the right, you have a link that says "English (UK & Ireland)"
click that link and choose "English (USA)"
If your cookies are enabled, it should stick to the US version

Mobile site : click on the menu icon (3 stacked lines) and at the bottom of the menu, you'll see the same links (English (UK & Ireland), and change it to English (USA)

I've tried to use Dreams Unlimited too, tried to book a DCL with them.
I got an email from Tammy O. (probably automated) saying she'd be my agent and she'd be in touch shortly.
It's been several months now, and despite several emails on my part, no news, ziclh, nada, que dalle ...
Needless to say I've taken my business eleswhere

I have used dreams 4 or 5 times and never had any problems so it's a shame you have- generally I think they are very good.

Sorry to jump in on this thread but planning first trip with our 7 & 8 yr olds we were going to book in next few days for Sep this year because of virgin sale but saw info online saying free dining would be available from 23rd april so decided to hang on,is this only if booking from usa?How can sorting a holiday be this exciting and this frustrating at the same time!lol

The free dining that will be released on 23 April will be for 2016 bookings in the UK.

For 2015 free dining if it is going to be released around May by Disney US.

Free dining for UK visitors booking from the UK for 2015 ended quite some time ago. you have to be pretty early booking to catch that offer. But if there is a US free dining offer you could use a US agent to book that. The exchange rate is really poor though at the moment.

Im in the early stages of planning a trip to WDW around September 2016 and Free Dinning will be essential for me. Especially to soften the hefty cost of staying on Property.

Am i right or wrong that Quick Service Breakfast is always free and included with your hotel or is that just a DLP Thing?

Just a DLP thing. If you get free dining you could spend credits for breakfast. Last year I think they included breakfast at the values.

breakfast is not always free

the previous free dining offer had free breakfast at value resorts

u can use you counter or table dining credits towards breakfast if you wish

Thanks for your replies. I vacationed there in 2006 and 2007 and when thinking about it, i dont remember eating quick service breakfasts so i must have paid.

Im really going to hunt around because at the moment, 2 weeks in Sep 2016 at Port orleans Riverside with Virgin Atlantic is coming in at about £4,500 which im finding too much considering i'll need Universal passes, spending money and maybe more for food too.

Don't forget regular free dining isn't really free. You pay rack rate for your room and need to budget for around an 18 - 20% tip for every table service meal. That stacks up over 2 weeks. I anticipate our tips for 4 Disney adults over 15 nights will be around $350 - $400. That's without adding any alcohol to the bill and only a few appetisers. How many people is the above price for? For a family of 4 that's a decent deal.

Not all resorts are rack rate. SSR and OKW were discounted when free dining came out just not advertised so. I think the WL and AK were too, but I forget.

When I have more time I will look up a post that someone had last year. They did a spread sheet of prices, it was very interesting to look at.

If you stay at say Port Orleans Riverside am i right that you'll get the standard DDP included free? Can i then upgrade to Deluxe for less too?

No you will get the quick service plan at moderate hotels if you book a UK free dining deal. The regular dining plan is only free at moderates via US free dining deals. But you could upgrade the free quick service to the regular plan I have done this and I assume you could upgrade to the deluxe if you really want three table service meals all with desert a day. Personally I think that's an enormous amount of food. The regular plan finishes me off!!
