Free dining 2014

Question:

Do they exclude certain types of rooms?

My party is staying in the following 2 rooms:

Contemporary Tower Concierge MK View
Contemporary BLT Grand Villa

Does Disney blockout certain rooms like Grand Villas from getting FD?

Thanks!

Thanks-am I reading it right that FD for November will also be offered now? I thought they wasn't released until late summer. (That was why I was pondering booking now-but if it's going to be released in May, then that's a no-brainer lol).

You are reading it correctly.

Oh, my life would have been SO much easier last summer if this had happened last year. Here's hoping for this to happen next year so I have time to talk DH into it!

does seem like things will be less stressful for people looking for Fall discounts this year. Just my opinion but crazy that you need to make the hard to get ADRs 6 months out but Disney does not release discounts until 60-90 days out.

the fact that most of October is blacked out makes my plan for a November 2016 trip look better and better but a lot can change in 2 years.

I hear ya it being crazy ADRs are 180 days out. I tried this morning for CP before park open and no dice. That was one of 2 ressies I really wanted, but I was able to get lunch. My niece and nephews are going to be stoked to meet Pooh and friends regardless of what meal so I need to chillax. I just booked a package last night so was able to get all my dining done this morning. And happily was able to get the times I wanted for the other places.

I'm sure it's noted somewhere in thus thread, but here is an FYI for newbies..you can book ressies online at 6am eastern time (1 hr before phones open). Also when checking, don't choose the breakfast, lunch or dinner option if you know what time you'd like to eat. I made this mistake and was shocked when times weren't coming up. Then switched to the actual time (like 8am) and they were available.

Super helpful thanks!!
I was hoping for 2 connecting value rooms at the all star movies because it seemed like the one that the kids would think was coolest (of the values other than AoA). I've never stayed at a value so I am kind of unsure about how rough that is gonna be with the busses but it's my first time going with 3 step kids and now need that 2nd room. I just can't swing 2 in the mods. Only there to sleep and swim right? ;)

No Crystal Palace 180 days out??? I think you should be able to go back in and snag that some other time. I have never had trouble with dinner CP and last year booked for 18. Hope it works out for you!

I couldn't get the prepark open bfast at 8 that I wanted. There was a 9:15 but I don't wanna be eating when lines are short! I did get lunch at 11:30. The food just looks weird. This was for Oct 26 which 180 days out is today. I could get an 8am for Fri Oct 31 but that is our check out day and I just don't know how that would work with checking out and getting to the park at 8. According to my sister getting her kiddos moving in the morning "is like herding turtles". =)

I am getting 2 connecting rooms at Pop. It is a little more expensive than ASMu, but I like that Pop buses just serve Pop. I stayed there in Dec and LOVED it. I have stayed at all star sports and all star music...pop seemed much smaller...maybe that is just my imagination. I hear ya on not being able to afford mods. It's crazy when ya gotta get 2 rooms!

I got a prepark open....we have never done that before so I'm pretty excited. Also this will be our first time at CP. Good luck hopefully something will open up.

Woohoo! Happy for you...really I am! I'm taking my sis and her family. My niece and nephews love Tigger, Pooh and Piglet. Well Eeyore took but my niece really loves Lumpy. Too bad we can't see him. =( Kids have never been so they have no expectations but meeting some characters and going on some rides. And of course spending time with their favorite aunt. =) I will be checking the reservations tho to see if anything early opens up. I'd still rather have breakfast than lunch but it'll all work out.

You will LOVE ASMo, it is super cute with the larger than life Movie Icons!
My kids loved it! It is a smaller resort and we have never had trouble with the buses!

POP is actually the largest Value resort::yes:: AStar resorts have 1920 rooms each and POP has 2880! We also LOVE POP! We are definitely a Value family 100%:thumbsup2

Also, the buses during slow times can always service more than one resort. My daughter was at POP in January and some of the buses were shared with AoA periodically. Even though the AStar resorts all share buses, they also have 2-3 times as many buses running than other resorts.:drive:

Thanks for the info! Maybe In was just in better shape last year compared to when I was at All star music. I didn't book a preferred room but that walk back to my room didn't seem nearly as long as it did at all stars. Good to know about buses too. I know poo and AoA are right next to each other so it makes sense. I'll have a vehicle next trip so not worried about buses. I am soook excited for FD. My niece and nephews are gonna freak meeting all these characters.

I'm planning on booking my Sept trip as soon as FD is announced, but I'm not yet sure who will be traveling with me. Just trying to figure out if as long as I have the room booked with free dining that guarantees the FD for anyone I add later.

As long as they are in the same room, yes. If you have to add an additional room, that may not work.

It does, as long as they fit in your room. My DH books a team for free dining for September each year without even knowing the names of players for certain until August.

I know if your check in falls within the dates you will get the free dining, but what if your check in date is not a free dining date, but part of your stay is (example ck in Oct 19th, ck out Oct 26th)?
