896.82 to upgrade from regular to deluxe 1257.96 to upgrade from QS to deluxe 2014 Quick Service to Regular Adult: $19.02 per night Child: $3.13 per night Quick Service to Deluxe Adult: $65.30 per night Child: $13.76 per night Regular to Deluxe Adult: $46.28 per night Child: $10.63 per night
Are these prices including tax? When I calculate it's $18.65 from QS($41.99) to DP($60.64).

Where would you stay at CSR? Preferred or business class? We have preferred for our stay in November, but I am considering switching to business class. Which one is more convenient to the main building?

Also with free dining... That just upgrades you to deluxe dining? Hate to bother my TA with another question, concern, etc... Lol we saved over $1100 with free dining at Beach Club!

Yes that code gets u free dining upgraded to deluxe so u pay the difference. The other code D365N is only free dining and u cant upgrade. I spent an hour on the phone with a cm trying to figure it out lol didnt know i needed another code!

I think it depends on resort level and how many are in your party.

Very much so - also, generally the FD plan is worth it vs. RO if you look at what you are charged for TS meals there; and the more people in your party, the more value there is in FD. But - and this is a big but - what you are charged for TS meals, vs. what you get is insane. We are hoping to get a FD offer on the 7th, and my family enjoyed the meals the last and only time we were there (2012). However, we did pay for some meals - and even looking at the receipts following the "free" meals - the cost is very, very, high for the meal. I know there is the Disney experience/ambiance etc., but I have eaten at much better places, with far better ambiance for far less. For us, FD is worth it - especially with 4. But run the numbers and estimate what you would spend paying for your own meals. Certainly staying offsite and buying food, eating offsite when possible would be cheaper. No question. Anyone disputing that is snorting the pixie dust. However, we very much enjoyed staying onsite, and liked the TS break in the evening etc. I understand I may be getting fleeced a bit overall, but I don't mind. Its a price I'm willing to spend to be entertained for those days. Definitely run the numbers, and look at different options (Value, Mod, offsite) if money is a concern. And of course it should be. But, I don't think FD works for everyone, nor is it the best deal for everyone. Frankly, its not the best "deal" for anyone, but for those who want to stay onsite - look at options, and run the numbers etc. RO definitely works out better for some people. Rack rate for those hotels is very high.

I guess I am confused about why people think the room only discount is better than FD. For 8 nights RO discount paying for the dining plan my quote was $3970. For 8 nights with FD the price is $3048. Am I even worse at math than I think I am? :confused3

I think every situation is probably different. It would cost my husband and I roughly $600 to buy the regular Dining Plan for our trip (5 nights). There's absolutely no way we would eat $600 worth of food, so we wouldn't ever consider paying for the Dining Plan. We just don't eat enough to justify it and because we don't have kids, we won't be doing any of the character meals.

So I guess what I'm saying is that No DDP + RO Discount will probably always be cheaper than FD + Rack Rate room. It becomes questionable if you plan to buy the DDP regardless. :)

Makes me glad that Disney offers different discounts depending on individual needs!

Business class is the closest you can get to the main building. We love that location.

Oh my goodness!!
I think I may faint and die!!
I actually just received the Disney Visa Offer in my email!!!!! :scared1:
This is the first time I have EVER received the actual email offer!!

So I guess I can no longer join in when everyone says they never get it. :confused3

You'll have to provide me with me more details so I can show you where you overpaid. However, even without your details, you'rebeatefore you even start. A 10 night stay at AKL Savanna view 10/1 to 10/11 renting DVC points costs me $1,660 (166 points X $10/point). That same room at rack rate (which you are paying at your resort) costs $5,787. A savings of $4,187). But you would get "free" food for your $5,787. You also overpaid for evidently 7 park tickets and will be paying an 18% gratuity for all of your TS meals. If you would have eaten at all of these places to begin with and gotten dessert and drinks, then you would see some savings, but most of it is just as I said previously, "mental".:confused3

For one I am paying $184/ per night per room rack rate because I don't stay deluxe. I didn't do DDP and paid out of pocket last year, with only a saving of $500 because we do eat a TS every day, mostly dinner, buy mugs etc. So even of you add the 20% ro and the $500 saving from paying OOP, I'm still way up. Now if you want to say SOME PEOPLE its not a true savings ..ok. But for me its a savings. We have tried renting through daves and and added what we would pay for the meals OOP, and FD is always better. I've been doing this for 12 years and I NEVER pay full price for anything, if there was a cheaper way, I'd find it.

First of all...congrats to everyone who has been successful today!!

Second - When I book online Wednesday...if I choose the DxDP Will I automatically only be charged the difference between that and the free plan (trying to talk DH into CSR...but Pop or ASMu are our back ups) or will I have to book the QSDP/DDP then call to upgrade?

Wish we were going this year. Just got my Disney visa notice about crew dining. Maybe next year.

Nicely put, I couln't agree more! There is definitely value for some parties.

From what I saw last year online you have the ability to upgraded your QSDP to any of the other dining plans.

Well the adult price to upgrade from regular free dining to deluxe dining is $46/adult/day and the kids price is $13 i believe. I paid $746 for our 8d/7n stay. Meaning u pay the upgrade price but still get the reg dining free

Oh, gotcha... It's not free to upgrade... You just pay the difference. Thanks. I don't think we could eat that much anyway! Lol and one day we plan to go to universal.
