Free Dining 2014 Discussion ~ Part 2

I'm sorry if this has been answered in the last 50 million pages, but do I call the 800-W-Disney, the 407-939-5277 or 407-939-7795 ?

I do not have a reservation (as I was afraid too many booking ahead would lessen the chances of getting the FD), are these numbers for those who have a reservation already?

Thanks in advance, y'all are awesome!!

I think any normal Disney number will work. I will note that as far as I know there isn't a 1-800 number --- they are all toll. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

(doing some Google searching, I see reference to a non-published 1-800 number, but no clue if that's for real)

Years ago Disney had 1-800 numbers but have done away with them over the years:(

There used to be an 800 number quite a few years back that was leaked out, but was disconnected. have not seen a new one or heard of any.

I am not sure who has this info, maybe Black, but how often have you seen resorts blocked for Visa promos, only to open back up for the general public. Please, don't say "it's happened," (pleading, not snarky) because our party has to make some tough decisions before 7th as we are basically down to CS and CB which is basically a value in terms of room size, bed size, and theme.

We can go down to Value for that and save money, but I really need to have some idea of odds. There are no other Promos out there for GP in Sept so I need to make this one work.:crazy2:

In 2012, I booked a trip when free dining came out and AOA mermaid rooms were excluded (very new resort then). A couple of weeks into the promotion they added the LM rooms and I called as soon as I saw it posted on here and was changed from AS Music to AOA LM room for 14 days of free dining at the food and wine festival.

I cant speak for all who pre booked, but for me its because of the need for space for family of 5, the options are slim pickins..

Oh no I understand and I feel for all of you families of 5, it's a stinker that the options are limited and even more with this offer! That's the only reason I mentioned more of us trying to hold out for future offers is maybe then POR would be back on the option list next round (whenever that may be) but then again as you said you are one of those families of 5 that needs to book to be sure to get a room because of your size.. It's tough. Here's to hoping and good luck all.

On the plus side for POR folks, idk if it's been mentioned but I wonder if so many people switching out of that resort will Disney maybe add it to the offer maybe days into the promotion, or even weeks, rooms will definitely drop there with the switches... Never know! I've seen some speculation that this has and hasn't happened before, I can't say 100% but I could have sworn it has in the past like with the LM rooms? Correct me if I'm wrong though.

There are lots of behind the scenes work and logistics that needs to happen before we see actual work. Every resort had a pulled fridge, not CBR fault. Sorry you had a bad time at CBR, it is our favorite resort:) Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Oh no, I know it wasn't there fault....that was just the icing for me...last year in Martinique they had changed over all the bed linens....you didn't even have a bedspread, only a sheet. We actually had the heater on because we were cold.

Is it worth staying in the Pirate rooms at CBR?

Those rooms are SO far away from everything. They are actually separated from the rest of the resort by a service road.

The rooms are really neat (toured them in Sept)!

After all of this I cant be the only one thinking....PLEASE let there be a BB FD offer when we go in September. I really don't know if I can do this again next year:crazy2:

NO you are not the only one thinking it!!!

We were there last September and I didn't book BB because, you know, there was no way were going back this September....ummmmm what was I thinking???OF COURSE I'm going back to Disney :thumbsup2

All of the resorts have gone to the "triple sheet" look. Beds are all white linens with a themed runner across the bottom. No more comforters....much more hygienic and less laundry to do.

Well lets just say...I'll agree to disagree regarding the hygienic comment. Most people sleep between the sheets, not between the bedspread and sheet..l

The sheets are always washed when the guests check out of the room. The comforters are not.

This is standard practice at hotels everywhere. Exactly why I don't use the comforters at any hotel. Yuck!

Thanks for the phone numbers, I don't know where I got that 800 number from, probably out of my dreams, since I dreamt of free dining and being on hold for an hour, haha!

When we stayed at Wilderness lodge, we were kind of disappointed with the room only. Seemed kind of plain for a deluxe resort. The rest of the resort was great.
