Congrats to all who are booking... we don't have a DV so I'll be dialing at 6:59 AM on Thursday morning.

Glad to hear they save some rooms for the general public release... I will get one at PORS for 5 w/FD.

My husband booked room only a while back-- but he's not going to be able to call due to work, so I will be calling.

Question-- do I have to tell the CM and switch it when I call? Or will he have to call back to cancel it?

I don't want to let it go until I know we can get FD, because if we could not (which I'm not going to let happen but lets say we miss it) I would rather just keep the room at the discount rate we got it and dine OOP.

You can not add a FD discount code to a room only reservation, you will have to cancel that reservation and rebook under a Magic Your Way package with room, tickets and dining and they will be able to apply the FD discount then :-)

Hey Joe, is there a way to look up or get notified of new threads you post here? Would be nice to be able to be up to date on Mouseville happenings. Besides which, I've really enjoyed following this thread. Yes, I really have read all 78 pages and plan on keeping up with it even though we've alrdy gotten our FD discount. Is cool reading about everyone's success stories and hoping for those still waiting to see if/when their res dates will be eligible for discounts.

Thanks, am I allowed to cancel a reservation he made?

so I have to upgrade to riverview for french quarter?
very sneaky disney

I'm guessing it depends on your dates. Some have been able to leave at standard, others have said river view. I was able to book my dates with garden view upgrade for $135(ish)...I added 2 days onto the front of my original dates, and still saved about $800!

A little help here. Currently on hold with Disney. We are at POR Sept 22-27. Told her we are Disney Visa cardholders and wanted to add free dining. She acted like she had no idea what I was talking about and put me on hold??? I've been on hold 5 min. Waaa???

Se must have just arrived at work. They get on the phones sometimes without reading their memos. Don't let her go until she gives it to you.

I'm sad ~ we'll be there for the right dates but my rooms ~ 2br villa at beach club ~ is excluded from FD and the RO discount. Now I'm not sure what to do. Should we switch to a moderate? or just suck it up and pay when everyone else get's a discount? This is our first time going and I was not expecting this, I thought if a discount came out then certain rooms wouldn't be exluded.

Must have just gotten into work - she'll figure it out ;-)

I would change to another available resort and pocket all that coin ;-)

Unfortunately some room types are always excluded. Would a moderate room hold your party size? Would you have to do two rooms, and would it be cheaper? Give them a call and see what the price difference is.

For me it would depend- how much would the discount actually help you out? Like for our fam. of 5, it's the difference between TS and character meals, and eating PBJ sandwiches back in the room.

But if I had a much higher budget I just wouldn't care. I'd go for comfort/convenience/desires rather than bargains.

I mean, FD is nice, but if you already planned out your trip costs and are fine with spending that and have the room of your dreams, you're not losing anything by not getting FD.

But if a bargain would make the trip that much sweeter, give you an extra night or more spending $$$ or just let you pocket money you could use, then I'd say go for the mod resort & enjoy it, and save the villas for another trip.
