Free Dining 2009

I am starting to plan our trip for Fall of next year as I understand that is when the free dining plan has been offered in the past.

We have a nice amount of Disney dollars from the visa. Should we purchase a room stay then add-on later the free meal plan? Or does it all have to be booked at the same time?

TIA

There was a thread in the Dining forum where you could subscribe and should receive an alert of some kind when the regular (not bounce back) free dining promotion is released. I don't know if anyone on these boards has started one for 2009 yet.

There is another site with an email alert list: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/freedining.html

I booked my trip with dining early and then adjusted it for the free dining once it was released. We booked our dining 180 days out, which was actually before the free dining promotion was released. It only takes a phone call to cancel dining reservations so there was no real risk. Having the dining plan on our reservation allowed us to confirm things like Cinderella's Royal Table with a credit card, rather than having to pre-pay.

Bounceback is being offered for next year's dining plan. Look for the flyer in your room when you are there. We were at POP last week and I booked my vacation for next year with the FDP including 1 TS, CS & Snack. :rotfl:

If the flyer isn't in the room ask at the front deck cause last year for some reason not all rooms got it.

Just as a precaution to not take no for an answer....I was there last week and there was nothing in my room.. So I asked at the front desk and they knew nothing about the bounceback. I called the reservation line, they knew nothing. I called several times and no one knew a thing about it. Then I returned home to see that others were booking the bounceback - to say I was furious was an understatement. I called the reservation line and did speak with a supervisor after being told there was nothing that could be done given we'd checked out. I stated my case: they have on record that we just finished a lengthy stay there and probably have on record my calls made to the reservation line while down there. The sweetest supervisor got on the line and was able to book us with FDing for 11 days next year. I really didn't think anyone would help me but I thought I would put up a fight since we did try our hardest while down there to book it. If anyone is going to be there over the next few weeks, do not wait and do not give up if you want to book. I know I am very fortunate to have them help us the way they did and would hate to see someone else get stuck.

You can also call Extension 8844 from the phone in your room and you will be connected directly with Travel Specialists familiar with the bounceback deal. :thumbsup2

I'm planing my 30th birthday (which is on August 27th, 2009) to at Disney. Free Dinning could be a nice gift!:rotfl:

Just wondering why you think the FD offer to the general public will not be close to the BB offer. the value resorts are getting the same offer as everyone else. 1TS 1CS 1 snack. Are you just guessing based on the UK offer?

What's your opinion mbanks aka Batman?

Wht were the bounce back dates for next year? Can anyone guestimate
what they think the dates for free dining might be????:confused3

The bounce back dates as the above poster stated are 8/23 - 10/1/09
so the general Public and disney visa card holders will probably be the same but then it does also say something about special promos for dates 10/2-10/4

I can confirm the bounceback dates...I have also booked my bounceback FDP for Sept 21-25, 2009. The flyer didn't really specify what he food plan entailed. I'm hoping it is the same...1 TS, 1 CS and 1 S. I was going to call and confirm, but thought I'd check here first. Can anyone confirm?

When I booked mine the very sweet cm paulina told me that it would be the same that we had this year the 1ts,1cs,1snack.

I'm curious to know if we need our $200 ready for when we go in 2 weeks. When do the first group of "free diners" coming home?

I already budgeted it! I didn't book it last year and boy did I regret it, 20 minutes after we checked out!

Yup, booked the bounceback last night and the CM confirmed it is the basic dining plan with 1TS, 1CS, and 1S. :)

The dining plan offer in the uk is cs dining plan for moderate resorts and ddp for deluxe (but you can upgrade to dddp) the dates are from 8/2 til 10/3 I am going for the Beach Club with dddp from 9/21 until 10/05.

If we don't have a flyer in our room, what is the code to use when you call the extension number to book the bounceback?
Thanks
julie

You do not need the code they check to make sure you are active in the system meaning you are on grounds staying at Disney at the time of the call! So you need your current reservation number and your credit card for your $200 dollar deposit and that's it!
