Free Dining 07- Who DIDN'T ge a bounceback offer?

We were at POFQ during free dining 2007 and had no flyer in our room - my parents, who were in the room right next to us, had the flyer in their room :confused3 - we probably wouldn't have used it anyway, the dates aren't good for us

We had the flyers in our room, and so I booked us - I have to call now and see if I can change my dates. And my prayer is that it's not a flipping hot as it was last year - seriously, it was unbearable - it was so hot that I almost didn't book the bounceback.

Keeping my fingers crossed for hot but not HOT weather,

KCpirate:

OT question: Was last year in Sept hotter than it usually is? Because we went in Sept 2006 and 2007--both times the second week of Sept--and 2007 was unbearably hot! . The heat didn't bother me in 2006, but this last time it really, really did. Just wondering if it was a freaky hot fall?

K

This thread is best suited for the Resorts/ Codes & Discounts board.. instead of here on the ThemeParks Board.. I'll be moving it over there!

Thanks,

Knox

I had heard about it on here, but never saw anything about it while we were there. I was disappointed, but now our dates have changed slightly, so I don't know if it would've worked anyway.

We were there mid/late August 2007 and it was HOT HOT HOT! But it wasn't September, maybe there's a temp. drop from mid-August to mid-September? We spent a lot of time in the pool and at Typhoon Lagoon (great fun!).

We did not receive a flyer-- a friend of mine (a diser I met there), told us about the offer we returned home-- I called WDW and they would not do anything for us to book it.

Several months later I booked anyway for this September and included dining on our package cause we got such a great room rate (it was better than free dinning IMO) so we will be back in September at the contemporary!:cool1:

Remember for future trips that all bounce back promotions are advertised on their resort channel (we call it Disney tv). We have stayed at Pop and BWV in October and Pop and AKV in January/February. Both times there were room discount bounce back promotions going on. Sometimes I got the flyer in the room, sometimes I didn't, but to make sure there is something being offered, it takes only a few minutes to watch the resort/disney info channel and when it gets to the section "resorts" it will advertise if there is a bounce back. It's usually right at the end of the resort section.....lately it's been a pocket watch telling you, don't let your time run out, book your next trip . We always watch for it and if we want the flyer we just zip down to the front desk and ask for one. Or you can call the phone number on the tv that is advertising the promotion. You should do this often during your resort, because the promotion may change.

We were at the All Stars in August and were given no information about the bounceback offer. I didn't start on this board until after we returned so I did not know about it. We have booked another trip this time for September 2008. I have a question, I just received a 20% off offer in an email with a PIN. Can we use that code and then if the bounceback is offered again this year could we get the free dining for this trip? Can't hurt to ask.:confused3
Thanks for your help
Cathy

Stayed at the Polynesian in Sept 07. I knew about Bounceback from DIS. No flyer in our room our whole stay. Although Disney TV was on pretty frequently I obviously did not pay attention. I went to front desk and inquired about Bounceback but all I got was blank stares from all the CM's-- they even asked a manager! So we went home. :sad1:

Sure enough, first day back home I read about everyone's bounceback offers, so I call Disney and even though I had checked out a few hours earlier the same day-- they would not honor the offer. Needless to say I was a little upset and vowed not to give my $ to Disney the following year... but here I go again with Disney fever for Sept 08 and hoping for free dining or Pin code!!! :shamrock:

We stayed at the movies and never saw a flyer. We did not know about it until we got back home. I called and they said that it had to be booked before we ckecked out. We already booked for Sept. and hoping for free dining code.

Where do you guys get the 40 percent or 20 percent off? I need to start looking into that for next time to see if it's cheaper then whatever else is being offered.

We got a postcard in the mail for the 40% off. We've got rooms at Pop Century booked. We're still hoping for free dining, as it's a better deal for the values, by far, but at least we've got the super-cheap value rooms locked up if free dining isn't offered.

As far as I know, the discounts is just something random. This was the first time we received one.

I knew about the bounceback offer from the DIS, but with the original dates, I thought the offer would be over when we arrived. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find the flier in our room at CBR showing extended booking dates. :thumbsup2 I booked before checkout. Now, we may have to change dates and give it up. However, I will only do that kicking and screaming!

It was HOT. I remember the average temperate while we were there September 1 - 9 being around 94, plus the humidity! It never bothered us before, but as my DH likes to say, "Dear, we are getting older!" We just took more afternoon breaks and went to the pool. But we wouldn't pass on Disney...no matter how hot it was (and after our brutal winter, we would take 90 degrees 365 days of the year).

:) When we checked into our room at Pop, the Bounceback flier was on the table. We had already know about it the offer before our trip though. BUT we thought when you booked it, we would be able to pay the deposit in cash if needed right then. But it had to be done over the phone and I didn't have the deposit $$ in my bank. :headache:

:) Once we returned home and I had put the $200 into my account, DH called the # on the flier and was able to book our trip!! :cool1: He said that they didn't ask or say anything about currently being at WDW so we had no problems booking the Bounceback after returning home. We have since upgraded from ASMovies to PO French Quarter.

:) We have been trying to downgrade back to ASMovies though since my parents are also booked there on the Bounceback (they also had the flier in their room at ASMovies a week after us). But everything is booked for the offer.

:) I have also received TWO of the 40% Off emails as well. I think I may just use that discount on a Moderate if we can't switch back down to ASMovies by the end of the month. Now I am in a CBR mood! LOL :lmao:

Call CRO and ask if there are any discounts linked to your name. They don't offer up the info unless you ask!

Just curious... I knew there was supposed to be a bounceback offer in our room while we were there for free dining in 07, but we never saw one- could have called up the front and inquired, but figured- it would be too tempting so I did the FINANCIALLY mature thing to do!

Did any other people not get the bounceback offer in their rooms? I'm just being curious- LOL!

We were staying at POR and didn't hear anything of it. I didn't know until I read it on here recently that it was offered. Sure wish I had.

We didn't get it and didn't hear about it until we got back. I called and didn't get a response, they said they would call us back. I sent an email and have yet to receive a response. Please, those of you who got positive responses, let me know who you spoke with. I keep trying because we would have booked if given the chance. We always travel during the same time. There seems to be a problem with them offering it to everyone. I don't like that. :sad1: .

We were at GF. No notice in our room. It may have been on the Disney info channel, but that didn't help us since the kids had Toon Disney on every moment we were in the room. We were disappointed when we returned home and learned we could have participated. Oh well.

Just got off with Guest services. They did NOT offer us the bounceback and I was very disappointed. I have been trying to get it settled since we returned in September. I let it go until I read here that some got it by pressing the issue. I called today and they tried to get the code in but it has been so long that they couldn't. They DID, however offer us a room package discount. :thumbsup2. If they offer the free dining, I will switch because we would save an additional $200.
