We've booked a bounce-back room at the Grand Floridian in September. Is there free DDP running for that month, and are we even eligible since we have a reduced room rate?

Free dining is available until the end of Septembre but no you can't combine "specials". In order to have free dinning, you have to pay full rack price for your room. Usually with Deluxe hotel, you are better off with the 40% off then the dinning.

Thank you, ma'am!:wizard:

You should know how much your room discount is saving you per night. Now compare that against the cost of the DDP for 2 adults and 3 children ($128 per night). Which is saving you more? AND, would you do the DDP if it were not free? If it doesn't really fit the way you normally/would like to eat, then it probably isn't worth it even if it saves you a little more.

That's a good way of breaking it down...and I'm definitely saving more with the room discount! (650ish down to 318).

Of course, we could stay at a moderate or value for less a night and get the free DDP to boot, but the reason we're doing this trip is for the GF....spending less time in the park, more time being Disneyfied by the pool :cloud9::cheer2:

;) and this is how you should plan a trip, getting the best deal on what's important to YOU!!! Have a wonderful time!

More than likely, in deluxe resorts, room discounts fare better.

In the moderates, it is a toss up.

In the values, the free dining is usually the better discount.

As the PP stated, take the cost of the rack rate room during that season and see if the difference between your discount is more/less than free dining. That will give you an idea of how well you are making out.

As others have said, you can't use both discounts so you will have to run the numbers and see which one offers the better discount. We stay deluxe and since we are all adults, sometimes free dining turns out to be the better savings for us over a 40% room discount; this, of course, depends on the time of year and which deluxe we choose......but free dining can turn out to be the better deal over a room discount depending on the number of people in your party as well as their ages.
