I am looking to book a trip for around June 5-11 2016. If I book soon, will I be able to go in and add free dining once the dates are released? (I know many years ago I did this, but want to be sure the rules are still the same.) Also, at what point should I begin watching for those dates to be released? With 5 "adults" and 1 child on this trip, I am going to need this!

Yes, you can add a discount if one is available for your dates/resort. It will not be free dining, however. That is never offered in the summer. We'll be lucky if it is offered in the fall next year. Lol! Offers for June will be out towards the end of the year or beginning of the next year.

Our dates are a little flexible, so I'm hoping to squeak in before the schools let out and the crowds pile in. I am hoping that June 4 or 5 might be an end date for the promotion so we can slide in there! LOL Thanks for your help!

As PP said, there will NOT be any free dining offer that would include dates in June. The only free dining for the past two years has been in the fall. Even the Jan/Feb free dining offered in years' past has gone away. You MAY get a room discount, but there will be no free dining in May or June.

Keep in mind that the more people that book at rack rate, the less Disney needs to give a discount. So just because a discount is released doesn't mean you will get it for the resort you are booked at. Disney will release discounts to fill rooms, and if many are already booked up, they won't need to release too many for the discount.

Also, agree with the others, FD won't be released for that time frame.

I just did that this year but it wasn't pleasant. Was on the phone waiting for 2 days to get through. Finally did and they didn't have any for my resort CBR. So I had to upgrade to AKL to get the dining package. It was an expensive upgrade but wanted to do a Deluxe resort one of these trips anyway. If you do it then do it at least 180 days in advance to you can pick your restaurants. I did mine 175 days and could never get BOG....

Can someone tell me if you can use your snack credits at Food and Wine and is it worth using them there if you can.

yes you can use snack credits for any food or non-alcoholic beverage item at the Food & Wine festival kiosks. It is worthwhile if you use the snack credits for the most expensive items. Some of them are now approaching $8.

Jury is still out on whether you will be able to trade one QS credit for 3 items at the kiosks though.

We were hoping for free dining next September - I know you need to also book tickets (we are thinking park hoppers) but if we stay for say 9 nights would we be able to buy park hoppers for just 6 days - we want a couple of chill out days (or maybe one SeaWorld) and we already have water park passes for one day (I had an accident at Blizzard Beach - long story). We wondered whether the days you bought the park tickets for had to match the number of nights stay (although I did see that you had to buy a minimum 5 days tickets but unsure whether that corresponds to nights stays if you see what I mean).

You can just do 6. Free dining requires a minimum two day ticket. The hopper option or water parks and more option was an added requirement for the public offer this year. We will not know if that will be a requirement for a bounceback offer yet.

Thank you - now just need to convince DH
