cornish pixie

Did you get price of tickets?
This year they are £225pp so I estimate £235pp next year = £940, so room & DDP = £1,682 or £120/nt up from £108/nt this year.
Disney direct were £117 less 3% quidco this August = £113/nt

Number crunch tonight, not sure its worth another £12/nt to us. I guess thats why they are adding the resort mug they know they are pushing the limit to what some of us will pay.

Just rung for 2012 pricing.

All quotes are for 2 adult and 1 child in an OKW studio (SSR same price). Inc DDP and ultimate tickets.

or

Oct 20- 3rd Nov 2 weeks - £ 2217

Oct 20 - 10th Nov 3 weeks £3055

Can book from 1/4/11. £75 deposit a room plus 20% cost of tickets. no cc fee.

Interesting pricing.
Prices have historically increased from Oct but you are saying they will drop next year?

Disney.co.uk 2 adults & 1 child for 2 weeks
This August £2,271
And this Oct £2,467

Did your 3 week quotes include 21 day tickets or still 14 days, I work those quotes out to be only 14 day tickets.

Yes I specifically queried Oct being cheaper than Aug as I know when we went last year on the deal Aug worked out approx £200 cheaper on a 2 week hol and the quotes i'd seen for for this year were the same.

I didn't specifically ask for the 3 week tickets so yes suspect it is the 2 week ultimate in both quotes. 3 week tickets will add another £100 or so I think to the 3 week quotes for the 3 of us.

I think we paid £2200 with disney direct for 2 weeks Oct 2010 - so no price increase.

Just need to decide and persuade DH!

Hi Wayne
Now Bare with me Im not good with numbers!!
They quoted me £1.666.00
for the studio 10th August - 24th August
Taking that away from the overall cost that left £956.00 for 4 adult tixs (14 days for price of 7 ) working out £239.00 pp
Think The Room works out at £119.00 per night.
Sorry if my calculations are a bit off have had to add up in my head and am not fireing on all cylinders today chest and ear infection:sick:
Anyway at least we have something to work from Hubbie is asleep as he works nights so he generally takes care of the booking side so I don't know whether this is good bad or indifferent. Am awaiting your advice Wayne:goodvibes
Keep replying you are all better than any medicine im on

Thise figures look spot on, I just slightly under-estimated the tickets by £4pp.
For this year they charged a slightly higher amount initially only to drop nearer the time, for this August they have now dropped to £220pp

So £119/nt up from £108, £11/nt more. For you being 4 adults in a studio getting 4 x free DDP I still think its an absolute bargain. Less in a room the less value you get, if 3 in a room and you prefer onsite and onsite dining again its still a bargain but for us who prefer offsite dining its getting less attractive each year as offsite prices rise at a slower rate(both hotels & food)

Trip planning is better than any medicine:thumbsup2

Is there a rate change mid Aug?

18 Aug for 14 nights quoted £1624 so £116 a night in a studio.

11th Aug 21 nights quoted £2457 so £117 a night.

I got a quote of £2940 for a 2 bed at OKW, sounds quite good to me. Its for 4th Oct for 2 weeks

Hi Wayne,
Cornish Pixie's hubbie here, wide awake because of sound of my wife performing cartwheels of excitement, even though restricted with chest infection. Guess planning is the best form of medicine!!!!

Have just contacted Charter Travel who are not commiting to releasing confirmed prices for next August 2012 yet. They have stated that they will provide a 5% discount when the prices are officially released by Disney at the end of next week.
One you will probably be able to answer Wayne, if booking direct through quidco, do you have to pay the full balance upon booking to obtain the 3%. We are weighing up what option to take, Direct through quidco with 3% off or TA with low deposit and 5% off. May seem a no brainer, but a little uneasy using a TA due to recession hitting travel industry.

Your thoughts greatlly appreciated.

It took me weeks to decide which to use for this August, we had option of Complete Orlando at £108/nt or Disney after Quidco at £113/nt & the few extras free we probably won't use.
Quidco is paid on deposit only so that doesn't affect your choice, balance is paid about 8 or 10 weeks out same as a TA.
This trip we are going with relatives and our 3 year old God daughter for their 1st visit. Although I was confident using CO I just felt it was worth paying the extra (£80 for our 16 nts, £70 for relatives 14 nts) this time to ensure no problems. If it had just been us I would be more inclined to use CO and save the money. My biggest worry was not having to claim back thru credit card but losing the free dining if anything went wrong. If it was just us we are as happy losing the deal and staying offsite.
I doubt we are booking anything until we have been this August, make sure we want to do the free dining deal again and have all prices available from every supplier, I also prefer to book my flights 1st so I won't be rushing into anything.

Hi, sorry to be a bit dim :goodvibes but what goes on sale April 1st? The VH brochure isn't due out until April 19th :)

Claire

the preview brochure is already out so I'm assuming if you book one of the resorts in there - (ALL STARS/PORT ORLEANS/AKL/POP/yACHT AND BEACH) on 1st April you will get your free dining and 14 for 7 tickets:thumbsup2

This sounds very promising. I was expecting a massive price hike! I will be ringing for a quote tomorrow.;)

You know honestly I never thought that Disney would be affordable for us.... but we are going this year and if these are the prices in the states next year too maybe (keeping my fingers crossed) we can go again next year!!!! OOOO how fun that would be!!!!

I was pleasantly suprised - i'm sure we paid the same Oct 10.

The lady on the phone was stressing it included dining and tickets - I guess she is used to people saying 'how much!' and I was thinking it was a good price.

Don't think US offer includes the 42% OKW discount. I believe US offer is either the room discount or free dining at rack rate but not both as we get in UK. I know when I checked for this this August the rate was $295/nt +tax to get free dining on Disney.com but UK offer was £108nt(approx$170) incl tax

Just got my quote for Complete Orlando - 8 nights SSR/OKW studio from the 24th May 2012 £936 including free table service DDP

8 nights king room POR May 2012 £904 including free counter service DDP

I know which one I'm booking :rolleyes1 just need to hang on for flights in the summer.

oh i may have to book on friday!!!! prices are very similar to this years and 42% off and free dining again!
