We have a free day. Is it worth traveling to other hotel within Dis or should I take advantage and sit by the pool with a refreshing cold drink!

Take advantage and enjoy where you're staying. Some of our fondest WDW memories are of spending time at the pool or the resort, just relaxing and taking it all in.

If we had a free day, we would take the day and visit some of the resorts and get the flair of each, SPECIALLY if they have their Christmas Decorations up! Then, spend some time on the watermice.....followed by a meal at Ohanas, at the Poly, ending the day watching the Water Parade with a drink on the Poly Beach! I am sure whatever you do, you will have a great time!

We actually look forward to a free day during our trip, and we usually take at least one.

I think whatever you do will be relaxing because you're not in the crazy (yet fun!) parks. Don't get me wrong, I love the parks or I wouldn't even be on these boards, but I love my free day. We stay at YC/BC so we like to relax at Stormalong Bay.

Or, sometimes we have what we call "Fort Wilderness Day." Love that place. We have horses so I use it as my "horse fix" - love to visit the barn that houses the draught horses. Also enjoy the little petting zoo. We've also been canoeing and bike riding at Fort Wilderness and in the evening we enjoy the Campfire Singalong and the hay ride.

Another free day activity is resort hopping. Just going around to different resorts and taking everything in - maybe having a meal somewhere different. And, as another poster stated, if you're going when the Christmas decorations are up this is an espeically good idea for free days.

We also enjoy playing minature golf at Fantasia and heading over to one of the outlets in Orlando.

Then, after all this relaxing fun - we're ready to hit the parks wide open the next day.

When we have a free day we go to Downtown Disney to shop. Then hang out at our resort pool, and if we feel motivated, go to another resort for dinner.

I always take at least one day to enjoy the pool until late afternoon. Then go to a different resort for dinner but no dessert. After dinner head to downtown for a stop at Ghiardelli's for dessert.

I like a day to relax. One of my favorite things to do is SHOP! So, why not take a day and hit the Outlets?

ooo, ooo, ooo - just because its so much fun to say I am going to go with "sit on your duff!". I say that all the time, "I'm going to just sit on my duff," "why don't you take a load off and sit on your duff?," "man, my house needs some dusting, ah, I'm just going to sit on my duff." Well, that last one is a little far fetched so therefore any opportunity to just SIT ON YOUR DUFF sounds great to me! :rotfl:

For our 2/27 - 3/6 trip we were planning to do a day trip to the "other" theme park for our off day, but now I'm thinking about a Disney Quest/DTD day. I don't have to worry about getting up early, getting to the park on time, or seeing everything in one day. And if we're done in 1/2 a day, wonder around and SHOP, SHOP, SHOP !!!

I'm sure the kids will have a great time at DQ, but I'm not sure who is the bigger video game lover my DH or my two boys 8 & 10!!!

We also plan a day to stay at our resort. Usually make a PS at a resort eatery, and hang by the pool (I use this time to throw in a load of wash).

Hey - when you think about what you're spending to stay at your resort, spending a relaxing day there only makes sense!
