I just bought 9 of the 11 new free d pins at WDW....upon arriving home and getting ready to list them for trade I have found out that the pin bag dye has rubbed off on the balloons....has anyone else had this problem???? Can it be removed???? I am so upset, it costs enough doing this hobby without one of disneys products ruining another.

Does anyone know who I can call at Disney about replacing the pins.

They are absolutely adorable.....I am so sad

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but at least I know what not to do!

Were the pins in your carry-on or checked luggage? Perhaps they got too hot and that is why the bag bled?

(were these the regular "plastic" Disney shopping bags, or something else...)?

Thanks for the warning.

Hi Cindy,

I have never heard of the paint rubbing off of the "Free D" (Fastened Rubber Element for Extra Dimension) but the rubber element itself comes off pretty easily. The pins are very nice but fragile.

Call WDW Merchandising at 407-397-6028 and they should be able to help you out replacing the pins. If you only wish to return them, you can get a refund at your local Disney Store.

I guess I should have been a little more specific in my first post.
I placed the Free D pins in my 100 years of Magic pin bag. Then stored the bag in the car for the return trip home. The satin like fabric that is between the pages to protect the pins left a dye stain on the little rubber balloons.

Jan you could be right that it got to hot in the car, ohhhhhh I am so bummed about it. Its quite a chunk of money to be out of if they wont replace them. I am hoping that since one disney product ruined another disney product I may get the pins replaced, but who knows. Wish me luck.

And dont store your Free D pins in the pin books unless they are covered better.......please:(
