I was wondering if there are any good places to park that are within walking distance of Universal Studios (like a mile)? Since I'd only be going for maybe a couple of hours (just to Citywalk) I didn't want to have to pay to park at Universal's garage. Any suggestions?

I found a parking lot roughly one mile to the west of Universal over its western-most bridge (a little stripmall with Rite Aid & Ralphs) and I noticed the sign there said 2 hour customer parking only, but if I were to go for it and park there, do you think I could get away with it and walk up to Universal? It's almost exactly a mile and the sidewalk out front goes directly from there to the park.

It's the only thing I can think of so far. Any other suggestions/ideas? Thanks

Or I noticed that right on the street out front of the Rite Aid/Ralphs shopping center are a ton of parking meters. Would these suffice for a couple of hours at City Walk?

Depending on when you go:

Citywalk has 2 hr $2 valet parking 11am-3pm on weekdays with validation.

The Universal City subway station also has a large free park and ride facility. I hear it can get busy on weekdays but not so much on the weekends. Technically you're only supposed to be using the spaces if you are using the subway, so if they have people checking you might have to buy a subway ticket.

That $2 valet parking sounds good. Where do I go for that? Do I just drive up like I'm going to the parking garage and tell them I want the $2 valet parking or what?

Honestly I've never done valet parking so I don't know. I imagine there are signs to direct you but you should just call ahead and ask to make sure.

You drive up to the valet parking garage and get your ticket. You make a purchase at a
CityWalk establishment. If you return to your car within 2 hours with the validated receipt
you will be charged $2.
