Free Budget Software???

ok, its nitty gritty time in the VK household...

i need to budget...but paper is hard for me to keep track of...

anyone know of some free software for weekly budgets???

I'm at a loss here..

I cant do excel ( build pages) but i do have it. I'm smart enough to figure outhow to put stuff in the cells, i.e. numbers and letters...

Hi!

If it is ok, I thought I would walk you through using excel for budgeting. I find it a lot better then quicken for home budgeting since you can plan ahead. (we use quicken premier for our small business) I have the rest of the year budgetted out and am VERY excited to say that my husband and I will be out of Credit Card debt in July if we stick to the budget.

Ok, for excel it sounds like you already know the basics. here is what I do (feel free to modify):
I use the first column for dates (I only keep track of the dates of when we get paid), the second column is for the description of the bill and the third column is for the cost.

So say you get paid on Friday, the first row would have the 4/9/04 in one box, "Paycheck" in the next box, and the $ amount in the thrid box. The next row (rows) would list the bills that need to be paid before you next paycheck. Don't forget about food, gas, and some misc. then at the bottom of all that (in the third column) type "=sum(" then highlight the bill amounts and hit enter. You will get something like '=sum(C1:C8)" Then leave a row and put in your next paycheck and the bills again.

I dont remember where i got it from but it has everything listed just fill ur own stuff very easy and very impressive. You have to have excel though
