Free Annual Passes at Disneyland

Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone called their guide to see? We are probably buying by the months end and if we can get passes that would be awesome!

I just called and was transferred to California and was told that yes you can choose.I dont why they said that it was DL only :confused3

I just called my DVC guide and she said she's not heard anything about this, doesn't believe it, and says that when DVC used to give out annual passes, it cost the company so much they had to discontinue it.

She's been there for years and years.

I suppose she could be wrong, but get it in writing if somebody promises you this.

We just sat through the presentation in California. The passes are good at Disneyland and Disneyworld and do not expire. It is a great deal. I just need to figure out if you can still get the 15% discount with that. I just found about about it throught this site. I'm waiting for a call to find out.

Yes...you would still get the discount. I replied to your other thread and forgot to include that part of the answer. PM if you've decided to "go for it" and I'd be happy to give you a referral if you need one. :)

Sorry...I guess I should clarify that. We were told that we did not have to use them this year or even next year. We were told that we could redeem them anytime. It would be great if they never expired...lol.

Of course you're guide "Doesn't belive it" they want you to buy in Florida not California.

So if you buy from a California guide, you can get this deal? Do you have to be there in person to get the deal, or can you just call a guide in California to get the deal?

I'm just asking because we don't have a guide yet. :sunny:

I can call my guide if you want and ask him. He is very nice and helpful. Just let me know...Julie

I had some other questions for my guide so I asked him about buying over the phone. He said that they are trying to promote DVC at Disneyland and that is why they are offeing the free annual passes. It is a "thank you" for guests that visit Disneyland and take time out of their vacation to purchase the DVC. H esaid the only way to get the passes would be to walk into their building. So....if you're planning a trip to CA in the next two weeks...lol. I hope this helps...Julie

Thanks for asking for me Julie. Actually we were just there Dec. 4th - 9th, so surprisingly we're not planning to go back for awhile, at least not in the next two weeks. :rotfl:

Would your guide give us credit for just being there? We booked the package through Disney and everything, and we still have the paperwork with confirmation and all. Probably not, but it's worth a try to ask, right? LOL
:cool1: :rotfl: :cool1:

From your location NH I think the airfare to CA would be more then the discounted price of the APs. unless you are going there anyway. All DVC members get $100. off the regular price of an AP. Rd trip airfare, at least 1 nights lodging plus ground transportation, meals, parking at the airport or transportation to and from. For me it adds up to a lot more than two APs. For you folks on the west coast it's a great deal. Anice incentive since it probably costs you more to get to WDW.

Is the DVC guide inside the California parks? Is there a guide in the downtown area so that I don't need to purchase park admission? Thanks.

You won't need to purchase park admission. There are guides at DTD and at the DL resort hotels. I know there's a DVC desk set up in the lobby of the GC. Check it out and take the tour if you're interested in buying DVC. :sunny:

If you get the 15% discount with a referal and 2 free APs.Do you also get the 2005 points at no charge also?Greg

Yes, you would also get 2005 points because the 2005 use year is still in effect for most contracts except for those with a January use year since it's already January now.

So, for example, if you bought a contract with an August use year, you'd get all of this use years points (2005) and then you'd get all of the next use years points in August 2006.

It's kind of hard to explain, but the best way is like this:
2005 points are good for 2005 into 2006.
2006 points are good for 2006 into 2007.
2007 points are good for 2007 into 2008.
And so on...

Disney always sells contracts with all of the current use year points.

I hope you understand that. I'm not sure if I explained it very well. :earboy2:

Thanks disney-super-mom. Yes I understand that part completely. I just wonder why the 2 free passes are only available in Cali.Nothing if you are in New York?Do you have to be in Cal to get the free passes?Or can you ask you contact person about them.I guess it wouldnt hurt to bring this up when they are trying to get you to become members.Obviously you would have to buy more in the future or if you have a family larger thatn 2 like I do.Greg

I talked to my guide the other day and he said the annual passes can only be given out if you sit through the presentation at the Disneyland location. He said that they are trying to promote it for Disneyland now. They know it is very popular back east and they are trying to get more people to Disneyland. He said that you would have to walk through their doors (in CA) in order to receive the deal...and purchase the DVC, of course. I hope this helps.
