Free admission on your birthday

We are going to Disney on my DS 7th birthday and are planning on doing the "free admission on your birthday" promotion. My question is has anyone taken their child on their birthday this year? I do not want to be carrying my son's birth certificate around with me. They said you could use a certified copy instead. Well can I just have his birth certificate notarized and that be fine or do I have to get another certified copy from the state? Here in Texas we have to pay $22 for each copy we get of our birth certificates. Don't want to take away from Mickey if I don't have too. So frustrating.

I don't know what Disney requires, but I can tell you as a notary that we cannot certify a copy of a public record, such as a birth certificate. Hopefully this helps.

I'm taking DS for his 4th birthday in September. I guess I never thought about it but you're right I'll have to carry around his B/C until our afternoon hotel break. I registered him online and they said to bring is B/C with his registration form. Gee that kinda sucks!

I just put my DS's birth certificate in a ziploc bag and carried it in my bagellini, I was there all day and it was fine, just a little wrinkled. I figure if it got damaged I would get a copy, but I didn't see a reason to get a copy beforehand.

We are going for my son's Bday in a little over a week. You have to have a Birth Certificate with you to present when entering the park. A notarized copy is not acceptable. Birth Certificates from the state here cost $20 each last time I checked. (you didn't even get a free one when you gave birth! SHEESH!!!) I just ordered 3 originals from the get go as I knew I would need them for travel, school, etc. I plan on keeping his in a ziploc bag as well for that day and hope for the best!
