I just got an email from Disney saying I'll get a $25 gift card for my upcoming trip in April if I take their brief interactive tour on Disney Vacation Club. Is this new or have they always been doing this?

They occasionally offer incentives. When we took the tour they gave us instant fast passes. If you have any interest in DVC, I'd do it. It's not high pressure like most timeshare pitches. But if you have zero interest, you need to decide if $25 is worth the time you will spend away from where you really want to be.

I got this offer for two of my trips a couple of years ago. I had to call the DVC number they provided and listen to the spiel and agree to receive the brochures in the mail and then they submitted a request for a $25 gift card to be sent to my house. It was easy, fast and worth the time spent. The second time, I had a problem with the gift card not coming in time and when I called them they had the gift card waiting for me at my resort. I would love this opportunity again! :thumbsup2 Luckily it was all from my home before my trip, I did not have to attend anything while actually on my vacation. Good luck, hope you are able to take advantage of the offer.;)

We had the choice of 3 FP each, or the gift card. We had to go on a tour which they told us would last about 2 hours, and get ice cream after. We had an interest in the DVC so we went. It's not high pressure at all and they were very nice, however it did take about 3-4 hours to complete.

I got a postcard that said I'd get a $40 gift card if I took an online tour. I called and talked to a man for a minute hen he transferred me to someone else to "take the tour". That man took my name and address and then said,"ok, you'll get your gift card in the mail". I think it was 2 days later I got an envelope with the gift card and then another with some DVC info. Easiest $40 ever!!

A CM working in one of the villa models offered us $50 to do the tour when we were down there a month ago.

We had the same offer when we did it in 2009 and chose FP's. I had actually approached the DVC information desk myself as at the time I was considering it. However the person we had, although very nice, gave a very hard sell and was extremely pushy. It started well but by the end I just wanted to get out of there. It was well over two hours. I'm not sorry I went. It was interesting and very informative and I really enjoyed the tour but I was even called and a message left for me at my resort before we got back to our room, trying to schedule a second meeting for me to sign up. It probably depends who you get. If I did it again and got the choice of FP or $25, I'd still take the FP. Even more so now!

We got the postcard that offered the $40 gift card if we agreed to have the info for the DVC sent to our home. Worked great :cool1: ! Loved seeing all of the lovely villas and such. A and now we have a little extra spending for September.

Did you sign up for anything recently to prompt this postcard? I would love to get an extra 40 bucks! We did the DVC tour in 2010. We had 6 kids with us and the lady was very pushy too. I just wanted out of there. Took our fast passes and ran...the kids didn't even get their ice cream :(. I won't ever do that again, but I would love to do the online tour :)

When we walked up to a kiosk at DTD, we were offered a $45 gift card for going over to Saratoga Springs to get a tour. Our lady was not pushy, but she did have some wrong information.

We ended up signing up and got another $45 gift card. Of course, we spent WAY more than that. It was still nice.
