Just spoke to a Disney rep, he shared beginning Jan 1 Disney will offer I day at one of their water parks free to guests. ..the catch is it's only good on day of arrival.

Unfortunately it's going to be an issue for a lot of people. I'm booked for arrival March 7th but my flight arrives March 8th at 12:30am.... it wasn't worth the time, effort, or money to find another place to stay the first night so this won't be an option for me.

Will try for an earlier flight or a cheaper hotel in my September trip.

Yes those that are on the west coast certainly do not benefit from this unless they book a night at all stars or somewhere else and then move.

If you have a long connection time you can certainly miss out as well considering they close at 5 PM a good portion of the year.

It will be interesting to hear if people change their arrival day booking habits- do they book a cheap Disney hotel and then move to the more expensive one? Do they lean into a late arrival and spend the night at the airport or an off-site hotel to secure water park access? I can see that happening when the weather warms up.

Do we know what the procedure is if it’s cold and the park is closed on your day?

we are going for two resorts.. first is Sports.. from what we heard.. no direct transportation there anymore to Typhoon.. and then we stay at French Quarter.. same thing it said.. we have to take a bus to the transportation area? this makes it really hard for time

For Typhoon Lagoon, you have to take a bus to Disney Springs and transfer to a bus to Typhoon Lagoon. Same process in reverse heading back to your resort.

It’s much easier to use ride share if an option for you, in my opinion.

Yes, this is just something I don't think we'd ever use and is a useless "perk" for us. We really have bo desire to go to a water park or really any park the day we. check in to our resort. I can't imagine there will be a ton of people who will use this. If we did a split stay and could use it on checkin of our 2nd resort we'd be more likely to possibly use it.

We do plan on using it.

We always fly in the night before and stay a night off sight using a FNC or points and then move on site the next morning.

We would certainly use the perk, but are patiently waiting for an opening date for Typhoon Lagoon - definitely prefer to spend our day there than Blizzard Beach. Seems with this perk being offered, they might need to have both of them open together, which hasn't happened very often since Covid.

We live just south of Atlanta and have a 6 hour drive to WDW. For our March trip, we are considering driving down the day before and spending the night in Flamingo Crossings before our official trip the next day. That is if the weather is warm enough to use the perk.

We arrive March 10 landing at 7:30 and if weather is ok plan to use it. Otherwise we will make a park reservation and go to a park. I’m old and arthritic so climbing all the steps might not be fun but even spending a couple of hours will be great for us. Wondering which park will be open

I mean we always fly down on the first flight of the day and are typically at property by 11am, most likely without a room and dropping our stuff off at bell services to go hang out in the nearest park anyway so this perk is perfect for us. The only reason we’re not utilizing it on arrival day in May is a friend is meeting us and her flight is getting in slightly after ours. If it were just me and my partner we’d absolutely hit up a water park instead and just chill in the lazy river. We’re 100% using it the day we switch from BWI to Poly though.

“My family would get no use out of this” != “no one would get use out of it thus it’s useless “ and is a logic leap made too often in these discussions tbh

We love the idea of getting an early-bird flight into Orlando, checking our bags in with bell services our resort, then heading the water park asap with a back pack. Grab a locker at the water park and just change there. Nice bonus.

I just learned about this perk and I think it will work well for us on our next trip! We are going to the other “Orlando theme park” first and this would be perfect for our check-in day at Disney. We’ve never done either Disney waterpark and I don’t know that much about them. I admit I’m not a big waterpark fan in general because it stresses me out trying to keep track of the kids. But I’m sure they would love it and I’m willing to spend an afternoon there.
