Wait a minute...I think I must have missed something! Did maggimus get booted??? I thought she was just busy decorating! How in the world could she get in any type of trouble? She is NEVER anything but sweet.... Am I totally confused or misunderstanding...???

Last time she posted she said that the still didn't have internet yet. That the company was being a pain in the Bum about dropping a line or something. She was suspended for awhile but that is now over because I was able to PM her last week sometime. I still have no clue why she got suspend though. I sure hope she comes back soon. Hope that helps.

I still have those mags for her........ and now a newborn baby diaper that no one claimed on the freebie thread that I can toss in the envelope!

I am disappointed in the direction I see this thread heading. The original purpose of this thread was to provide a place on the Budget Board for everyone to meet and greet in a friendly manner. If people want to express their fear while they go through a medical procedure, they should be able to post here without judgment. If people want to share what they have learned or received from a budget thread, they should be able to post here without being snubbed. Instead, I am seeing a lack of compassion and a clique forming. If that is the desire of some, I would like to invite you to go back to the Community Boards as that is acceptable and expected there.

I realize I live in a far away, rural setting and I don’t have that much in common with some people on these boards (with the boards being based on the east coast and in more populated areas) but I have never liked to see a sense of disharmony or ganging up on anyone on the threads. That’s just my values and I am certain there are many others who don’t share my values. But this thread was started with the intent of being welcoming to all and to get away from any one person being blasted or targeted.

If this thread dies because of my opinion I have posted here, so be it.

I'm back...a little aggrivated, but ready to COOK! I had to go to 3 different markets to try to find the seafood that I needed and still had to substite! I was able to get Dungeness Crabs and Shrimp, but had to substitute Snapper for Halibut and scallops for clams. I think it will still be fine because Cioppino is usually made up of just about any kind of seafood, it's just that it is the first time I have made this particular recipe (Tyler Florence's) and when I make something for the first time I like to follow it to a tee and then tweek it the next time if I think there could be some improvement. And for some crazy reason I thought that since we live on the water and our town is having a huge seafood festival and fishing tournament this weekend that finding seafood would be no problem...boy was I wrong!

I'll let you know how it turns out...then you can try it, too!
Oh, and I'm serving it with salad and yummy sourdough bread! Just like he did in the episode I got it from! I'll just have to watch out and not have too much vino while I'm cooking! So that I'll be a good judge of how good it actually turns out!

Hey FREAPS!!! I took a snow day from work today even though we did not get all the snow we were supposed to. We did get some ice and a little snow so I used the ice as my excuse. So far I've been working very hard all day-NOT!!!! I made some pecan pralines that are soooo yummy and I have a pork roast in the crockpot to make pulled pork sndwiches for supper. I'll sweet talk DH into making us some homemade potato chips and we are all set. Oh, and we tapped a new keg of homebrew yesterday(an English Brown Ale ). It is allegedly meant to be for the Go Big Brew party on Sunday that some friends have every year for UK's last home game but, of course, we have to make sure it is fit for human consumption, right?

I'm sorry you were offended by something we did on the Freap chat. I'm sure none of us meant that to happen. I have worried that baby is a real person and is just not real social. I would seriously hate to hurt anyone's feelings, especially yours since you seem like such a nice person. I know that I definately have a tendency to be snarky and a smart alleck(is that really a word?)but I really don't mean to exclude anyone from joining in on the Freap Chat. I just want a big happy family. Guess we're slightly dysfunctional? Any way, I hope you don't leave because I think you have a lot to offer.
