FREAP CHAT Part 2 ~ Everyone Welcome to our new digs

I've really looked at the stuff I have gotten before I've decided to host a party or not. I've (mostly) used everything to host a party (like the Cartoon Network ones- I've gotten both) if it looks like something my friends (or their kids) would think is really cool. I've also used some of the loot for birthday party favors, etc- they still have the logos on them so it's still advertising for them, and held the party in the same timeframe. Some parties are pretty lame, and my friends would never speak to me again (or accept another invite into my house) if I followed through with the party (Kenmore kitchen makeover. Basically invite friends over to re-do your kitchen or look at your new fridge. Really lame party package- lots of ads for Kenmore appliances How do you make a party out of that??).
It would be hard to keep everything for yourself- how many notepads do you need??- but if I decide to not host the party I pass the stuff out among my friends. Oh yeah- I still have quite a stash of Bliss in my pantry...

When we went to WDW in 2006 we stayed at the WL. After a mid-afternoon break we were heading back to MK. There was this group of people, 25-YES I counted-all of them who were soaking wet and laughing like crazy. They were telling everyone how they came to use the pool and were heading back to MK to get the bus back to POP. Oh and they were carrying their refillable POP mugs. I just bet they used them at MY RESORT!! The nerve.

All I could think of was Don't let the DIS police hear this.

Pool hopping?! DD and I did that on BOTH trips. Trip one, we decided to ride the busses on afternoon, just picked the first one that came through CBR and took that to a park, and then took the first bus to the resort. We got off, of course had our refillable mugs in hand, and checked out the resort. We hit 4 of them I think that night, we met some fabulous people on the busses and at the resorts. We dreamed of being wealthy enough to stay at the Grand Floridian, and pretended we were guests. The next trip we wore our bathing suits, and did the same thing, only this time, we went swimming in the pools!! The Grand Floridian was like another universe, with the nannies playing with the kids, we got a serious chuckle from that. We swam our way through Disney resorts.

DD and I met some amazing people, saw some alternative lifestyles - Robin Leach like - hob nobbed with the masses. When we reminisce about our trips, resort hopping is always tops in the memory section.

Now I am feeling like I NEED to get back there. Anyone want to start a collection to send me and the DD to Disney? Please?

HEY!!!! I'm innocent until proven guilty. Actually I'm too cheap to even buy a mug. I just have drinks in my room. Now if they ever offer a refillable mug for rum drinks, I'm in!

OMG- on our 2006 trip with BIL and SIL we did that- well, not planned. We met up with DHs Aunt @ Chef Mickeys- she lives in FL. She is the kind of person who can care less what people think- she will push her way into anywhere

After Chef Mickey's I wanted to show them the GF Gingerbread house. So it is DH and I, the aunt and her man, BIL, SIL and their 2 kids.

We see the Gingerbread house and of course, BIL needs to go out to the pool bar and have a drink. We are all around the bar and the aunt asks the kids if they want to go in the pool! DH and I are veterans so we know that is kind of a no-no. Get this- she takes off my nephews shorts and he is now down to his diaper, my niece just pulled up her dress---- OMG- I was having an axiety attack, I wanted to DIE! DH is trying to pretend that this whole scenerio is not even happening!

She has the kids in the kiddie pool- my BIL is fuming b/c his kids are down to their skivvys- he is saying people are going to think we are white trash He did make her get them out- but I think we all needed xanax by the time she got them out.

Of course- you can't put 2 kids in a pool and expect them to just get out b/c you want them to- they did not want to get out.

Oh- I got a shot it while it was happening- the faces are blacked out to protect the innocent

Yup- yellow and blue- a little too bright for me- I usually have the gold DL skin- they say it is easier to do searches with that skin- but who knows????

When I first came onto this board I kept hitting refresh thinking it was my computer

It might different colors on other boards, but I don't go there.

It depends on the party. I have had people come to my house and other times I've sent the things in the mail and other times I've kept it all to my little greedy self.

Well, I had known that it didn't have to involve having a bunch of people or KIDS(!) in my house, I would have signed up a long time ago!! ARe they still accepting new "partiers"? Anyone have a link, I haven't been over to the freebie thread in aaaaaaaaaaagggges...thanks!

hrh...They are always putting up new parties, right now there isn't one of interest to me, but I check everyday or so to see whats up. Go and sign up and then you're good to go when one does come up. It gets frustrating when you don't get accepted, but every once in awhile is still kinda fun! Worth trying IMO.
