I am almost 60 days away and I have no place to stay! I dont know what to do. We have no tickets (not that big of a deal) and no place to stay. I am so sick to my stomach because I don't know where to stay. We need something very reasonable. :(

Dial 1-407-WDISNEY. Tell them when you want to go. They will tell you what is available and for what price. If you keep procrastinating, you will have nowhere to stay at all.

You must have an idea of how much you want to spend. Start searching the internet for hotels within your price range. If you're interested in staying onsite, check on www.disneyworld.com.

The value resorts (All Stars/Pop) are pretty reasonable. You should call soon. If you are going in mid-April, it is going to be busy. Any reason you haven't booked a place to stay yet? If you are like me and plan vacations before you figure out how to pay for them, remember, you can book a room and they will hold it for you with no deposit for at least a week (and I think I read they will hold it for you for 14 days).

research on the internet quickly. Decide onsite or offsite. Find a hotel in your price range asap. www.disneyworld.com will let you check availability for onsite and prices.

You could also look on the DVC rent/trade board and rent points or buy in with an existing reservation. Check it out and Good Luck!! ;)

If you are a AAA member, you can get a discount from Disney Travel (1-407-939-6244). They can also give you some nice room rates. I love staying at the value resort Pop Century. Love that place! :Pinkbounc

I guess I should state I have no desire to stay onsite nor can I afford it. We won't be spending hardly anytime in the hotel either.

Then, locate some of the hotel search sites and look for accommodations in Orlando that are within your price range.

How many people are going? And what is important at the hotel, like a pool or food? Have you decided to rent a car or will be you be depending on public transporation? And how about budget? We've stayed off site a few times and paid as little as $35 a night, of course that wasn't a 5 star hotel or anything, just a place to sleep. If you could give us some more input I'm sure we could help you out. You may also want to check on the off site hotel board for more information. And one last thing, if you find hotels on one of the 'travel websites' always try going directly to the hotels website and plenty of times you will get an even better rate!

Post your problem up on the budget board. Include the following information:

Dates of travel
Mode of travel
Budget for accomodation
Number of travelers
Ages of travelers
Overall budget for the whole trip including food & tickets.

Editted to add: Is this your honeymoon? In that case you REALLY need to post this on the budget board...I can see you've posted all over the place but those are the people who have the mindset you need to make your trip work for you. Post enough (or more than enough) information in one location and work from there.

I am going to post this over at the budget board but I will post it here too.

Post your problem up on the budget board. Include the following information:

Dates of travel: april 23-29
Mode of travel: We are driving our car
Budget for accomodation: Less than 65 a night
Number of travelers: 2
Ages of travelers Me: 24 and DH: 26
Overall budget for the whole trip including food & tickets. hoping less than 2000

for less than $65/night and if u want a hotel 'close ' to wdw, with free transportation to the parks you may want to check the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista.

I would go to priceline and bid in the WDW vicinity. You can get a 3* for approx. 50 a night. You should go to www.biddingfortravel.com and look under Florida to get an idea of what hotels are going for. Good luck! :)

I would consider the Value resorts onsite. According to your dates your trip would fall under the Regular Season rate catagory at $99 per night for the All Star property. BUT, if you have AAA or an Annual Pass you should be able to get a much better deal and still be onsite. To me, it's just not the same off property. I'm sure there are more educated folks here that could tell you exactly how to go about it. Have you looked into the package plans or the dining plans? I know there's one for $1500. I would give the Value properties a shot using all the discounts and plans available before automatically ruling them out as too expensive. You'll have your car so you could always eat off property to save $$. That's what we're going to do. Good luck to you!! :thumbsup2

I think you could stay at the All Stars or Pop and easily be under $2000. We are going for 5 nights with 5 day base tickets for 4 AND dining plan and it is right at $2000.

I believe the All Stars with AAA rate was around $84.

If you want to stay offsite, I would recommend priceline since its just the 2 of you. Don't bid lower than 3*. Go to the site recommended above (betterbidding.com) and research how to do it.

Also, check out the Orlando hotels and attractions forum for great offsite hotel recommendations and rates.

I realize that these dates don't fall within your trip dates but maybe they'll come out with some? If you booked during these dates though, your room would only be $64 and you would be onsite... saving money on gas by using the WDW transportation too.

The catch: These rates are for AP holders. You would have to see if your budget could handle the cost of the AP. Keep in mind, only one of you needs the AP to take advantage of all it offers. It will cover up to 10 people in a lot of places. There are many perks such as free parking, and 10-20% off lunch at select WDW restaurants including non-Disney owned restaurants in the DDA (Downtown Disney Area) and discounts on tours. There's also the DDE (Disney's Dining Experience). As an AP holder you could get 20% off your total dining bill including alcoholic beverages. It costs $60 with the AP. I don't know about you but my husband could cover that (plus some!) in a week just in drinks!

I've done all I can for you. Hopefully, there are others that can be more helpful. I don't know about staying offsite. I haven't checked into that. Sorry, if I seem pushy about staying onsite. I just can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to if they could. :scratchin

The main reason why I don't want to stay onsite is we are also going to Universal but I guess it doesn't matter. LOL

I agree about not automatically writing off staying onsite. Haven't you seen the Magic Your Way commercials where they quote the package with tickets and accomodations for 6 nights/7 days at a value resort for a family of 4 staying for less than $1500? You are a family of two, so it would be cheaper than that :thumbsup2

Onsite is seriously the way to go if you can swing it. The whole experience is just much more immersive if you are staying there. You can just park your car and be chauffered around the entire time if you want. We have stayed both offsite and onsite, and will always being returning onsite.

Just check out disneyworld.com or call them at 1-407-WDISNEY. They will help you as much as they can. Also, if you plan on eating anywhere special in the parks or resorts, you need to go ahead and make your ADRs or you may be left out in the cold. You can do that by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE.

Good luck and have fun!

Oh, just read your post about Universal. We went to Sea World the last time we were at DW staying at POR and it was no problem at all. Just a short drive, and I'm sure it would be the same with Universal.

Whatever you decide, have a blast. :sunny:
