So I have been so busy stalking the Florida weather I neglected my at home weather! We are supposed to get snow on Friday (the day I am supposed to fly out) They are talking about the potential for signigicant snow for NJ/eastern PA. ACK!

Now I don't know what to do? :confused3 We really cannot afford to add a day and go early, not to mention I am supposed to work on Friday. I had a nice 6pm flight scheduled. There is nothing available on Saturday that would get me there in time to pick up my packet. I HATE WINTER!

Anyone else going to be flying out of the northeast Friday? Right now it looks like NJ will be the worst hit.

Did I mention I HATE winter?!

It will be what it will be. Hope the weatherperson is wrong.

I really hope the weatherman is wrong and the weather doesn't hold you up too much. If the flight is just delayed you still have some wiggle room for Friday night into Saturday.

If you can take the day off Friday then maybe you could fly down thursday
and stay at a really cheap off site hotel. I see postings for $50 or less per night on expedia.

If that isn't an option one back up plan may be to rent a car and drive down. If you do a one way rental you could keep your flight back but it will likely cost you more than the flight did and it sounds like your budget is pretty tight. You would have to leave in the snow on Friday to make it but often the roads are clear before the airport.

Best of luck. At least the weather for the race looks good once you get there.

as it gets closer, if a snowstorm is coming alot of airlines nowadays will let you change your flight beforehand free of charge - it helps them out too in case of cancellations

is it possible that you could get out earlier on friday? hopefully work will be understanding, that way you don't have to spend extra money on a hotel...but you can try to beat the snow and get out before the delays start. also, at least in the nyc area, snow is predicted for friday and sat - so i'm thinking it's going to start later in the day on friday, and then go into sat.

Which race are you running? If it is the half I would seriously consider going a day earlier. I would never chance flying into WDW the day before the race I'm running because being in the north the weather can delay you. I always build in a full day of pad just in case. If it's the full I think you'll be fine since you have that day of pad built in.

You could always stay in a cheaper place on 192 for that one night so you aren't adding a whole day onto a Disney resort.

The weather reports that I have seen for Friday are not saying anything significant for NJ. I saw only a few inches. I wouldn't worry yet, this storm may not be as bad as you are thinking. Where are you flying out of? Newark, Philly or AC......looks like further south is going to get less than the north.

Don't worry yet, you may be OK!

FLying out of Allentown.
I switched my flight. I really had no choice and could not take the chance to wait and see. I was flying with Airtran, which has just one flight per day to Orlando. If I decided to wait and see and find out they cancel my flight, I would not have arrived until around 10pm on Saturday night (that is if they could have put me on the next flight)
So, I decided to just move my flight to tomorrow night. I was able to do so for just $180 for 2 new tickets. I am in the process of finding the cheapest Disney room for tomorrow night.
