So we are a week away from our second Disney cruise and everyone is SO excited. Last year I spent so much time on these boards so I had everything planned. But this year I have been so busy with work I have not given the boards the attention they deserve. So of course as soon as we get on the ship I will have to run and make ressies for Palo. Bruch is no big deal beacuse it is just a day a sea. But dinner - Oh dinner. I hate missing a rotation in the dinning room because I love all of the restaraunts ( but if pressed Lumiere's would rank the least). Last year we missed the Tropical dinner night for Palo and I would kind of like to see that this time. We are a group of adults so I think that we have the LAP rotation and we are late seeting. I just don't want to miss out on anything. It si driveing me crazy because i am a huge planner. So if anyone has any suggestions for me that would be wonderful.

Holly Dolly,
I am maniac when it comes to planning but I also have so much fun doing it I ignore my families glares and comments. I had done 2 Magic cruises and when we went on our third last December my parents came with us (my Dad thinks I am nuts too) but I wanted their informed input so I printed the menus that are on Dave from Marietta's website so they could decide what they wanted to give up - the decision was tropical night.
Have fun with your planning, don't panic as it is much easier the second time around and enjoy your cruise!

Last year we went to our regular rotation with our kids for tropical night (we had main seating) and then to Palo at 8:00 for dinner. We only had an appetizer at our main seating and then ate our meal at Palo. I found the tropical night menu least appealing and there was no set show for that night, just a movie, and then the deck party later. It was a great plan because we didn't miss anything but the movie and they had a matinee of it that afternoon.

The only disadvantage for me is that I can't eat very much so I was full from the appetizer but determined to try my dinner and became too full. I felt full all night and there was no way I could have eaten a thing at the midnight buffet.

We asked to be on the APL rotation because we wanted to go to Palo on semi-formal night and have formal night in Lumiere. Yes it was the small kids rotation and we were 4 adults, but we had a great time ::yes::

Brunch at Palo is a fabulous way to get a sample of their foods - it's relaxing and very enjoyable.

We hate to miss rotation dining because of the servers - they are like "family" to us!

I know just how you feel ~ ::yes::

Therefore we chose Palo brunch,
as we would not want to miss out on dinner rotation w/family and our wonderful servers.

It's wonderful when you feel like the servers are family!!! That's why we ask for the same ones - and often when they are on vacation, we ask for their assistants or at least the same Head Server who will put us with a great team.

God bless your son, 4nana - I had some of my active duty time in Korea a long time ago - beautiful people, beautiful country and great food. Hope he can enjoy his downtime as much as I did - not only did I shop til I dropped but I took private pilot lessons in a Cessna and saw parts fo the country that were inaccessible from our location. Just wonderful!!

August 23-30, 2003 DIS'ers Brunch at Palo

We had a group of DIS'ers meet in the private room at Palo on our cruise this past August for Brunch. It was out of this world, we had such a good time together. The food and service was excellent.

I'm hoping to get a group together for Palo Brunch on our cruise next August as well.

Like others have stated, we didn't want to miss any of our dinners with our serving team, that's why we selected to do the brunch.

Andy - how come I started humming, "We Are Family" when I saw your Palo "family portrait"!!!

We had that room also on our August cruise and although it is very nice, you don't get the view and it can get a bit warm from all the body heat.

I liked the main dining area at Palo with all the windows! Very nice and of course, we had the best dining mates, Matthew and Corinna!!!!!

It got warm in there for us as well, but once we turned the two box fans on, it helped a great deal. It was nice to have the private room so that we could talk and see how everyone's cruise was going. We had our brunch on Thursday morning, so by then, there were some stories to share about our experiences, on and off, the ship!!!

Is it easier to get brunch ressies for Palo than for dinner? What are the seating times for brunch?

And I loved seeing the group photo and getting a peek into Palo's private room... how fun!

Hopeful for 3/19/2005 on the Magic

Our brunch time was at 10:30, there were only a handful of people in Palo when we got there. We had the first seating for the private room the day that we went.

I'll 2nd (or is it now 3rd, 4th ... 04 12th) about not skipping the regular dinning rotation. We have not been to Palo for diner on several cruises. But brunch we will not miss. It is fabulous. I'm sure that dinner is to, but we get attached to our servers and table mates (so far NO bad experiences). Dinner is one of the few times our family all gets together while on the cruise, so that's another reason that we skip Palo dinner. Our seating time for brunch has always been 10:30 - so we skip breakfast (or just a very, very, very small amount) and we allow 2 hours for brunch - anything shorter would be to rushed.

Thank you Rae for your good thoughts and having served our country. Because of these brave souls we can sleep safely at night, so it means a lot we keep them in our prayers. ^i^.

Our Ranger seems to be enjoying his tour thus far, however not nearly as exciting/demanding as his beloved 82nd., where he served as a Co-Comdr. He has been through extensive training thru out the US, but never this far away and I must admit, I miss my boy and need a video chat....LOL! Can you tell he is my 'pride and joy', as Jr. is the only son of 4 children??
Hooah on those private lessons!! Any tips on Korea appreciated!

I pm'd you with some of them.

I can still taste some of the Korean foods, and believe me, nothing compares to them!!!
