freaking out about HH trip

I'm starting to freak out about my upcoming HH trip for June of 08.
My family is booked and my parents are booked for our vacation to HH in June. We are going from June 22nd-27th. I have to wait until Tues to book my brother and his family for those same dates. At the time I was booking myself and my parents, I didn't know we would be taking my brother too. It doesn't really matter though because I ran out of HH points to book at the 11 month window anyway. I even borrowed HH points from 2009. I'm really worried that I won't be able to get anything for them 7 months out for those dates. I can't afford to waitlist them either because if I can't get the whole trip, I'll have to cancel those points which means they will go in holding and I will have to use them in 2008. Anyone try to book anything for those dates recently and were told that there was nothing available? I would take anything, studio, 1 bdrm, 2bdrm, doesn't matter.

I hope you get your reservation but we have always had trouble booking five nights in HH any time in the summer.

It is sounding like things are booking up at HH pretty quick. Would you consider trying for the DVC cash discount?

Actually, you can call today to book all but the last night of the reservation you want. (You could have done it day-by-day last week. )

I'm not sure why you're saying you don't want to waitlist. The points won't go into holding unless you cancel less than 31 days before the reservation is to begin. So, there is always a chance that you can waitlist now and it will come through before the "holding" deadline.

Is there something I'm misinterpreting here?

Currently June 22 and 23 are totally booked. I would think that you would have luck on the waitlist being this far out. If you are thinking about booking I would book as much now and do the rest day by day. Also for the missing days they have the 25% member cash discount available for all room types as of this morning so I would call ASAP. You can always cancel out the cash nights and book on points if they become available. We will also be at HH during that time period. Good luck.

I couldn't get anything for them. Nothing available at all. I would be pulling the points from 2009 if I waitlist. I have never waitlisted before. So as long as I cancel before 31 days my points will go back to 2009?? If thats the case then I'll definately try it! Some one let me know.

You could waitlist for the whole week... and if the whole week doesnt come through they wont pull any of your points from 2009.

If you waitlist day by day, then as the days become availble they will take points from 2009. (and those points, once borrowed would become 2008 points, if canceled 31 days or more out)

Your best bet to get all the nights you want is to wait list day by day. If your not willing to risk it, then waitlist the whole week and take it from there


On another note, my guess is your looking for a studio. Anyway you all could share a Two Bedroom? Those are more plentiful at HHI, and I have had great success in booking those at the 7 month window. I dont know if all under one roof would work, but thought I would toss it out.

A 2 bdrm is exactly what I had hoped for. I would then have cancelled the one bedroom for my family and used those points for towards the 2 bdrm and have my brothers family stay with us in the 2 bdrm. I would keep the studio for my parents. I think I might try to waitlist a 2bdrm for all 5 nights at once. If it comes thru, it comes thru. If it doesn't then I'll just have to take them some other time.
