Freakin' out about hot tubs...

I heard (last summer)the same thing about hot tubs that Dis stated. My own thoughts before were that if a pool or hot tub smelled really strong, it was because the chlorine was stong and working. Wrong! It's like being in one big bathtub with lots of other bathers!Yuck!

I do feel that DCL and WDW does everything in their power to keep everything as clean as possible. That's another reason why I love Disney!

...and THE DIRTIEST PLACE on the ship was the HOT TUB (and the toilet seats)!!! Filled with E Coli and a bunch of other stuff I can't pronounce...

Last year, one of the guys we'll be cruising with was sitting relaxing in the Hot Tub at the Jellystone Campground upstate and he said he felt something BITE him!

...and I'm SOLD on avoiding the hot tubs!

But I really appreciate all your replies and advice...I think!

Hot Tub Story:
Last year, one of the guys we'll be cruising with was sitting relaxing in the Hot Tub at the Jellystone Campground upstate and he said he felt something BITE him!

My mistake: I was reliving this story with my husband and he said, That wasn't Kevin, That Was ME!!!! I said, no way! He said, yeah, don't you remember? It was a big chunk the size of a pencil eraser! And I wasn't the only one, Maryann had something taken out of her leg, too!
He said he felt something, said, Ow, and let it go and then a few minutes later Maryann said she felt something, said Ow and I guess that's when they got out of the hot tub. I think a bunch of our friends were in the hot tub, too, but after the two of them got bit, they decided it was enough. BTW, they have no idea what it was, but something took out a chunk as round as a pencil eraser! I'm gonna ask to see the scar when he wakes up......

Sounds like there might be more room for US in the hot tubs. We have been using hot tubs for many years, in many places, and never got any kind of crud from them. Chlorine will kill alot of things. Think I feel safe, with Disney standards, that I will remain healthy even if I use their tubs.

I agree MrsMork, the more people that stay out of the tub, the more room for me!

That doesn't bother me, either. I'm surprised my husband went in in the first place, that's probably why I didn't remember that it was he who was bitten!
I love relaxing in the warmth with all the bubbles around, even if it's 90 degrees outside. It just warms up your muscles and loosens you up.
