I thought this was restricted to Europeans but I didn't see anything about it at dlrpmagic.com. First off can Americans buy it? If so what would stop me (aside from the blackout dates) from getting to Paris and heading straight to DLP to buy the Francilien passport, then heading into Paris for a couple of tourist days and once the 2 day post-puchase period is over, starting my DLP vacation?

you should be fine.
they ask for your passport but just for ID.
why not e-mail them?
dream passes rule though with extra magic hours.

The old Franceilien passport was for Paris residents only. The new one is open to everyone. Your plan sounds good to me! My mum did the same when she visited Paris this year.

I personally prefer the Dream (or even the Fantasy) pass as they offer good discounts on the hotels, restaurants and shops. The Dream Passports also have extra magic hours (2 extra hours in the park)

I'm the same, we buy the Dream AP as we like to be able to use them for EMH let alone the 20% discount on shopping, but if you're not fussed about this then your plan will be ideal for you. :) You'll still get 10% discount on meals :thumbsup2 and if you're staying in a Disney hotel you'll get EMH anyway.

We intend buying the Francilien pass for DS when we go at Easter. We are in France for 10 days and Disney is at end of stay so we a going for a day at the beginning of the holiday (staying in one of the very cheap Bussy st George hotels), going in to buy the pass (remembering this time to tear our selves away from the park and not doing what we did in Summere and staying for 2 days when it was meant to be an hour visit!!!!!!!!!!):rotfl: :rotfl:

By the time we go to Dis properly the 2 days will be passed and we are staying at Cheyenne so he will get EMH anyhow and we have dream passes so can use those to get any discounts on food, purchases etc
