FRANCES Closes theme parks

Some minor rumors today indicating otherwise.

But officially From their web-site:

Walt Disney World® Resort
Important Information for September 4, 2004
The Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Water Parks, Recreation
Areas, the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney will not operate
on Saturday, September 4 based upon forecasts from the
National Weather Service and information from emergency
preparedness officials.

For guests with priority seating for Character Dining in a resort
location, meal service will be provided, but characters will
not appear.

We anticipate resuming limited operations sometime on
Sunday, September 5 after the storm has passed. Updated
information will be distributed as soon as it is available.

Doesnt Mother Nature understand this is the Happiest Place on Earth, and its just wrong to have real life bump into our needs to get away and replinish our spirits to get thru real life till we can come back to the Happiest Place on Earth...

I hope they can resume Sunday, this thing is like a snail, taking it's time to even get here! It's supposed to hit the coast sometime tomorrow. I can't see how it'll pass through WDW by Sunday Don't know if it'll pass through the coastal areas by Sunday the way it's going (unless it speeds up).

I doubt they will open on Sunday. That is when most of the bad weather is expected.

As slow as she is moving, it looks like Monday may be a wipeout too. Not much we can do about it. I hope Ivan stays away next week. FL needs a chance to recover from Charlie and Frances.
