I was voting for Italy anyway.This just confirmed my choice.
Why are so many of them aggressive?They ear such huge wads of dosh and have such an influence on children - I wish there were more shining examples for our children to learn from,

Stated here that Italy's semi was the game of the tournament where they were men amongst cheats and deserved to win everything. France did nothing to change my mind. I cheered the azurri all the way tonight. France have had some lucky moments and i weren't sure they deserved to be there but no side shone in the whole 32. Overall Italy were better than France through the tournament. There is alot of French fans that will be most embarassed tonight after all their booing when they see the tv replays.

No matter what ZZ did i refuse to remember him by this. He always came on top no matter what player he came up against. Lets remember him by this

Well we are so hyper tonight:jump: we've just got home from watching it with a bunch of family and friends (English & Italian) and we were all so nervous when it went to penalties. So glad that Italy have finally laid that ghost to rest (if that's a saying!).

Shame that Zidane didn't have a dignified end to his career - whatever Materazzi said to him.

Really thought France were going to win though - they had so much of the possession/chances in the 2nd half.....phew!

Didn't realise that there was booing going on we couldn't hear any of what was being said.

as the OP i just wanted to agree with so many things said here.
DH and i also watched it with about 40mates in our local, some of who were supporting Italy (Huge sweepstake in the pub ) The play was ok, a few moments on both sides that shined, Henry getting a head injury in the first few minutes was bad , but the fact the zizou as capitan could pull such a shameful manevour was embarrasing. There was an entire row of kids watching this match with us, some of my eldest ds s football team (u9s) and my second sons team (u7s) who we try and teach to be gracious in defeat and respect everyone on the pitch and look what they saw
i could go on, about bad substitutions and miscalled free kicks, but i wont be a bad loser.
Well done to Italy, and everyone following them, heres to a rematch (without zidane) in 4 years time
