Frak!! Battlestar Galactica is returning!!!!

My understanding was that the whole colony was Cylons.

I've heard that Dee's behavior is common in people planning suicide. She was hysterical at the beginning, but then she calmed down (after her decision was made) and spent time with all her loved ones. After her "perfect" day, she ended it on her terms. Sad, but realistic.

Agreed. DH and I were like "What's up with Dee, this isn't like her?" And we figured she was going to off herself. It fits very well with her character, who has been tragic almost from the beginning. No one ever asks Dee if she's okay, she just soldiers on.

So what's up with Cara? I say time travel. DH says that's too hokey for BSG. He figures she the "13th cylon" and maybe is Tigh and Ellen's kid.

OMG-can you imagine Cara finding out she belongs to Tigh!:rotfl: They do have alot in common though! I can't wait for the next 9 episodes! Supposedly, they do a good job of tying up all the loose ends. I really hope so.

Any opinions on whether we've seen the last of Ellen. Is the 5th Cylon really dead, or has she been "reborn" somewhere else? Since Six is pregnant with his child, her return could be interesting.

****just read some interesting tidbits! Ellen is appearing in 7 of the last 9 episodes-I don't know if they will all be flashbacks or not. The finale is 3 hrs long-they don't know if it will play all at once or extend the season by 2 wks. And Nicolas may not be a Cylon baby. He gets sick, and somehow Hotdog is called to sick bay. There is a scrapbook on the BG site that has a picture of Calleigh linked to Tyrol and Hotdog, so maybe she was fooling around?

Okay, first. Yes: Ellen as the final Cylon skinjob model was a bit anti-climatic. Some of the "hints" the producers claimed that they dropped in the fourth season actually would have led me to believe otherwise (that Ellen was actually and aged version of Six, not the final missing model).

So if Ellen was the final Cylon skinjob model, what does that make Kara? (BTW: It's Kara Thrace, not Cara Thrace.)

The finale is three hours: March 13, 10PM-11PM; March 20, 9PM-11PM. (All times Eastern.) (I would expect that the first hour of the finale will be repeated March 20 8PM-9PM, but I have no confirmation of that.)

Arrrgggghhhh! I can't read this thread until they replace the bulb in my TV. I DVRed it Friday and was going to watch it yesterday, but the stupid bulb blew.

That's why I've had a replacement bulb sitting behind my television since the day I received it.

I'm still not satisfied. When Ellen died after Saul poisoned her while they were on New Caprica, which was under Cylon control at the time, why wasn't she resurrected just like the rest of them? You know there HAD to be a resurrection ship nearby, since Leoben kept coming back when Kara kept killing him.

(BTW: It's Kara Thrace, not Cara Thrace.)

Dude. Seriously? With all the atrocious spelling and grammar that pop up daily on the Dis, you feel the need to point THIS out?!? People who don't know how it's spelled probably don't really care that much, and most people who DO know the correct spelling don't really care either. It's not like they spelled it Chiara Thrayss....

Heck, there is really no sense in discussing this stuff at all -- it's just television, after all. What a character is named is as pointless as anything else about a television series. In this case, though, in light of the fact that the dog tags they found said "K. Thrace", it might make more sense to use the "K". So it isn't a matter of spelling, but rather connecting the dog tags to a character in the show. No, that wasn't "Cara's" sister, Karen (for example)... it was probably Kara herself.

Dh asked me the same thing. The five didn't have bodies on the resurrection ship. If they did, the other 7 would have known who they were. The five have a completely different origin and way of being reborn than the seven-remember Ellen told Tigh they would be reborn together in a different world. I really hope they do a good job of explaining the differences in the last 9 episodes.

Maybe the whole "12 models" thing is just folklore.

That's why I've had a replacement bulb sitting behind my television since the day I received it.

We have a maintenance contract. The disadvantage is that we have to schedule a service call. The advantage, as you know, is that those bulbs are expensive and the contract covers it. This is the second bulb to go on this TV. I must be watching too much!

Wow. I purchased my HDTV in June 2006. Back then I think they wanted $150 just to have the warranty include the bulb for two years. I spent the $150 on the bulb, and by now I've broken even, since I haven't had to use the bulb yet.

I liked the episode a lot! It'll be interesting to see the back story get filled in on Ellen now that we know she's the last of the Five.

And I got a really big kick out of Leoben's reaction to Starbuck finding her dead body in the Viper. Considering we always see him playing mind games, it was funny to see him spooked, say he doesn't know anything anymore and turn tail and run.

I like that they didn't sugar-coat everyone's reactions to finding out Earth is a big wasteland. I was obviously sad to see Dee kill herself. But I thought the show did an amazing job of showing everyone's reaction after the one hope that was driving the fleet, was finally taken away.

The episode certainly did bring up a lot more questions, but I have faith they will be resolved and look forward to the rest of the season. Is it Friday yet!? :hyper:

Just read some more spoilers. Ellen is reborn in the current time, and isn't mad at Tigh about poisoning her. No word on how she takes him getting Six pregnant, though! Also, we see them getting a sonogram this week-Six is happy-Tigh says he needs a drink:rotfl: . And we'll see Hotdog, Tyrol, and Nicolas in sickbay with Doc Cottle-interested to see if Callie was running around on Tyrol with Hotdog. And we are told to brace ourselves for more deaths. Hera to me is one creepy little girl-I haven't read any spoilers but really want to know more of her meaning to the Cylons.

Don't forget about Zach Adama (the dead brother of Lee and Starbuck's old flame). In fact Zach Adama is my second pick behind the Doc. Although I think Zach would be a cop out.

Tom Zerrick is a possibility but I think it is too obvious.

Zak was one of the three Adamas I was referencing :) but yeah, they seem to forget about him too much on the show. And D'oh! I forgot about Carolanne! I guess she counts as an Adama if Dee does - lol. I guess things move so fast they don't have time to deal with everything in detail (the way *I* would like ;) )

and everyone, could we please white out the spoilers for unaired eps? Pretty please? :flower3:

Sci Fi just announced the plan for the finale.

The finale itself is three hours long. It will be presented as follows:

March 13, 10PM - Hour 1
March 16, 10PM - Finale Special
March 20, 7PM - Finale Special re-run
March 20, 8PM - Hour 1, re-run
March 20, 9PM - Hour 2
March 20, 10PM - Hour 3
March 27, 7PM - Hour 2, re-run
March 27, 8PM - Hour 3, re-run

So basically, you can skip the regularly-scheduled March 13 broadcast, if you dare, and just sit down to watch four straight hours on March 20. :)
