I was wondering which resort had quieter rooms FQ or WL,just when I think I am set with my FQ resort choice which is very popular, I see how amazingly popular WL is ,but I am traveling solo and once I get in my room I want to be able to have a reasonably peaceful room can any give me some advice? :)

Although the rooms at WL are quiet, many open to the large lobby and once you open your door you can hear lots.

I have never been to FQ, but stayed at both parts of POR and always had nice quiet, peaceful rooms.

I would have to agree. WL rooms depend on their location. I have heard kids running down the halls and they can get quite loud. On the other hand, at POFQ I did not hear anything outside exceone night a luggage cart went by .

I have stayed at the WL many times and it is a favorite (most of the time I too am solo) I stayed at POFQ in April and have to say that I loved it, there are many quiet areas there and the courtyards are beautiful. It all depends on each resort where your room is.....The WL has balconys also and sometimes if you leave your glass doors open you will also get noise along with kids running the hallways. POFQ I was in building 2 facing away fromt he pool and it was very quiet. It would be a toss up but I am staying at POFQ again in Oct. I liked it so well, also the Food Court gives you quite a choice of food and the grounds are beautiful. WL has a small snack bar along with 2 restaurants...........

FQ doesn't have indoor hallways -- which can contribute to noise. No balcony either. FQ is a moderate -- layout is like a motel.

WL is a hotel w. indoor hallways. It is a deluxe resort w. more amenities than the FQ.

Both are nice.

Thanks for your responses I really appreciate the info, this is my 1st time staying onsite and I want to make the best choices,I am also staying 2 nights at AKL conceirge (for safaris) and 3 nights at BWI but I keep debating my FQ ressie even though I got a great AAA package deal and I know it is a very popular resort,I think I am suffering from resort anxiety disorder!!! :)

We stayed at FQ in May and had a room facing the pool and were surprised how quite it was there as well. WL and FQ are my 2 favorites as well and I too was torn, but stayed with FQ due to the AAA rate we got as well and we were not disappointed.

Stayed both - both fairly quiet but prefer WL. Did not like the fact the FQ door opened onto the outside world. It is still nice tho.

WL villas are quieter then the main resort. The rooms do not open up to a main lobby. It is part of the DVC, but I believe they have a certain amount of rooms for rentals. POFQ rooms are decent, but the resort layout is totally different then the WV.

Stayed at PO and WL. Our room at WL had just as much noise as we had at PO. I was surprised that we could hear so much from the other rooms around us night or day. I still liked WL. We will be going back to PO in December though and I am looking forward to it.

Thanks for the responses,I know that WL is very popular and it looks beautiful, but it seems that it is the resort that I have read the most comments on noise from other rooms and I want to be well rested for long days at the park.
Thanks again!!!! :)
