Shhhh...... Don't give them any ideas!

I am so excited to see the Christmas decorations and you don't need a FP for that.
I do a lot of advanced computer programming and it doesn't cease to amaze me that upwards of a billion dollars can be spent on IT (healthcare.gov, Fastpass+), and you get programming problems a high schooler could have prevented.
Kenny's explanation of how to get infinite FP+'s could be summed up with about 5 short bullet points (although we appreciate the in depth explanation). There is nothing difficult about it. The biggest "if" seems to be the spotty internet service in the parks. No one has mentioned that you could call/communicate with a family member/friend offsite and have them access MDE for you while you're in the park.
As for being able to reenter the FP+ line... that's the banana peal on this heap of steaming garbage. How can it get more elementary? If they didn't get these basic things right, I suspect all of MM+ was poorly thought-up, designed, and as we're seeing now, executed.

That loophole has to remain open as long as any resorts are giving guests kttw that access fp- without having to use it to enter the park (aka using magic bands for entry). As soon as Disney puts all resorts in the testing phase that pop is in now,I would expect that loophole to be closed.
I still don't fully understand this. When resort guests are given a KTTW card as a "backup" for the MB, isn't it still linked to MM+ and their ticket? If you use the MB to enter the park, the system should note that that "ticket" is in use that day. -- it shouldn't matter what media is used to refer to the ticket (MB, KTTW card, AP card, "paper" ticket from Undercover Tourist, etc.) since they all are linked to the same ticket.
The way you are describing it, it makes it seem like people are given some generic KTTW card which isn't tied to their ticket (or the guest at all) that just pulls legacy FP -- but that can't be right, since the KTTW they are given is also supposed to be active for room entry, charging, etc. which means it is linked to the person's stay and would almost certainly have the park tickets loaded on their as well.
Kenny, would you know if a room-only KTTW card will access the FP- machines. I am staying at POP (just my luck) and want the same access as all the other resorts have. If I book a room-only the first day I am there at another resort that is giving KTTW cards and go and get those KTTW cards, would those work in the FP- machines for my stay? Wouldn't think of doing this normally, but I want to try to have equal access as the other resort guests. I wouldn't also do it if by mid-December most of the resorts are not giving cards anymore.

Legacy FP machines do not speak to the MM+ system, hence the designed loophole. All KTTW cards have to pull FPs because it cannot check MM+ to know what is valid or not.
I know that legacy FP machines are not connected to MM+ in any way. I'm not talking about that.
People have said that the "designed loophole" where old KTTW cards will pull legacy FP is because the "backup" KTTW cards that people are being given aren't connected to tickets. That doesn't make any sense to me.
Right now, people who check into on property resorts automatically get MBs. They (except for people staying at POP) can also get a KTTW card with a mag strip as a backup. Unless I am mistaken, that KTTW card works just like KTTW cards historically have -- they work as a room key, enable charging to your room and have park tickets loaded on them. So, for example, Joe Blow has a 5 day ticket linked to his MG via MM+. When he checks into his All Star Resort, they give him a KTTW card. This KTTW card will also be connected to Joe Blow's 5 day park ticket. When Joe Blow goes to Epcot and uses his MB at the gate to enter the park, the Disney system registers that his "park ticket" is in use that day at Epcot -- any item linked to that ticket (MB, KTTW card, paper ticket from UT, whatever) will register as the ticket being active for park entry that day. So, there should be no reason why the KTTW card cannot be used for a legacy FP because it will say the card is valid for pulling paper FP.
So, why would Disney put in a "designed loophole" that allows inactive KTTW cards to pull paper FP? It makes no sense. I don't think it was a "designed loophole" -- I personally think it is simply a mistake, one that Disney just isn't bothering to fix because they are getting rid of the paper FP machines soon enough anyway.

I haven't had a chance to use the new Fastpass+ system yet but this
certainly sounds like "Kenny the Pirate" has found a huge flaw. He's
also not shy about sharing exactly how to exploit it with the world.
While I personally would like to see more than 3 Fastpass+ selections
(4-5 would be nice) this abuse can't help but hurt those individuals who
are still using the legacy Fastpass system.
I have a similiar type email that I received 2 1/2 weeks ago when I reported it myself!
