FP+: Why One Choice, Not Mandatory Three?

Hi all!

Our big Christmas holiday blowout is fast-approaching -- we leave for Orlando a week from yesterday!

I have a question about FP+. For whatever reason, once my FP+ window opened for the upcoming trip, I was allowed on MDE (the website) to choose a single FP+ reservation. Of course, I choose 7DMT.

The problem is, when I try and add another one or even two additional FP+ reservations for that day, I am prompted first to cancel my 7DMT reservation. In effect, it seems that, by choosing just the one FP+ reservation for that day, I cannot make additional FP+ reservations without...

(o) canceling the 7DWT reservation
(o) allowing the FP+ "slot" to pass, and then trying to book whatever I can, on the fly, on the same day from the park

I messed up, but I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done. Oughtn't there be some warning that, if you choose to only pick one FP+ when offered, that that's all you get -- the one FP+ for the day? Don't want to sound like a grumpy gus but I'm not sure how I was even offered the choice to take just one FP+, when I had thought the required number was three -- whether you wanted them or not?

You could try calling guest services and seeing if they can add two more. But I will warn you, guest service FPs can not be altered. So if you want to try and move them, your out of luck. On the plus side, after you 7DMT is over, you might be able to get another FP Bedford using the ones from guest services. Just would not be able to over lap times.

I've never heard of someone unintentionally getting just one instead of three FPs, so either OP (accidentally) screwed up or the software went glitchy (likely). Unfortunately OP is right that you can't get two more without canceling one, which would mean losing A&E and 7DMT.

I recommend as PP does to call to see if anything can be fixed.
