I am glad that the FP+ has been updated so that we can use more then 3 FP+ a day. I am trying to figure out if its best to book FP+ mid morning, early afternoon so that you can get additional FP+ later in the day or if someone has a better strategy.

I am thinking each park would need to be approached differently based on what FP+ is available.

I am curious to know how others have optimized additional FP+ with their touring strategies.

It depends on your touring style. We make ours to start around 10:30am, and go 3 consecutive hours in a row, 10:30-11:30, 11:30-12:30 and 12:30-1:30. We are RP people and love to ride those top rides multiple times. When the weather is hot, we stay until about 2 or 3pm, then head back to our resort to swim, shower and head out for a TS dinner. So, we arrive at least 45 minutes early, hit the "popular" rides first, use our FP+, and check to see if we can get more. We have PH, but usually don't go to a park to ride after dinner, just look around and see the evening shows, so no need for us to get FP+ for the evening. This is what works for us....:)

it all depends on many factors:

- when are you going?
- how many in your party? and what age?
- how long is your trip?

I went with 2.5 and 4.5 yr old kids last week and our plan was rather simple:

- take advantage of early magic hours regardless of what is "recommended" (simply because of the heat / sun) - I rather push the stroller at 8am than at 2pm :-)

MK & Epcot : leave park around 1pm, be back at 4pm and have FP+ for the afternoon.

HS / AK : leave park around 3-4pm, have FP+ from 10am to 1pm

The idea of extra FP+ works in MK on low crowd days. If you are looking for extra FP+ in Epcot, HS, AK during the busy period - you will be disappointed with availability.

Using the above strategy we were able to do 8-11 rides per day with minimal to no wait times. Also it helps if you know which rides are quick loaders and their estimated wait time is often overestimated.

We are going mid September and crowds aren't an issue. We are a party of 4. Me, my DH, 14dd, 8dd. We like to go when the park opens and usually stay til it closes. I am thinking getting FP+ for mid morning early afternoon then see what we can get later.
