FP+ touring, or Universal's new Ride Reservation System?

Which park will be more successful with ride reservations going forward?

Obviously US is getting the same ball rolling, which is smart IMO.

Would love to lock down Forbidden Journey and Gringotts since they will remain off the Express Pass list IMO, and be a 1 hour wait at park opening.

Grab those Gringotts for mid morning (knock out US) and FJ for 1PM then knock out IOA, back for 3 mountains and Wishes at MK. :thumbsup2

A queue management system in accordance with present embodiments may include a data server system including a processor and memory. The queue management system may include an interface system of the data server system configured to receive a reservation request including an indication of a general time period of arrival of a guest to an area. Additionally, the queue management system may include a reservation right allotment system of the data server system configured to correlate a reservation slot for accessing an attraction to identification information for the guest. Further, the queue management system may include a detection system of the data server system configured to determine when a portable identification feature associated with the identification information has arrived to the area, and a reservation assignment system of the data server system configured to establish a reservation to access the attraction at a specific time window.

Yep.

New boss same as the old boss.

And this is why I plan to enjoy Universal's onsite express pass (with small doses of WDW) until Universal messes everything up too :)

Haven't they been watching what is unfolding down the road?

Looks like they have, and they like the idea.

Yep, I'm in if they implement-probably at least one day every trip, instead 1 day every so many years like in the past. Just to much "unknown" when you head over there in the AM currently.

The purchase of EP is not worth it without the 2 attractions that need it most.

The hotels aren't worth the move either since we enjoy WDW's night shows and hotels better anyway.

Universal already has one of those systems that they use in conjuction with their express pass systems. It is the Q-bot. The patent obviously has some variations but it is the same premise and it is already being used.

Yea I saw that Q-bot as well, regardless they are headed the same direction for some reason or another. :thumbsup2

And all it currently does (for an additional $39 per person) is you walk up to a ride, it says 50 minutes-you select that and come back in 50 minutes and go in the EP return line. And it cannot be used anywhere else during that wait.

So it saves you no time at all as far as the rides themselves-you just don't have to stand there.

Not a bad idea, should be free IMO, but can't blame capitalism.

Pretty sure they intend to expand greatly on this as well.

~Awww! :lovestruc Thanks for thinking of me when starting this thread, jade1!

~I totally agree with your comment. Universal is so smart to get the ball rolling on this, right away! It's has been widely speculated that ride reservations and wearable tech/media will become the theme park industry standard! :cool1:

~I really like Universal's Express pass, it's only missing two rides. Universal's hotels are nice but I prefer to stay onsite at Disney and buy Universal's express pass!

~With that said, I'm watching the Poly in shock & horror from afar! I just don't know what to expect. I do know that DVC completely ruined AK concierge! The Poly concierge is just fabulous and I don't know if Disney plans to take Hawaii and convert it into DVC rooms. We'll see. :(

~This is why I just have to commend Disney! Disney's fastpass system is free for everyone! Universal Studios, Six Flags and Cedar Point all charge for their version of fastpass! In part, this is why Disney's fastpass system will always be superior to all the other theme parks! :lmao:
